“Excellent near the port!”
I booked this hotel based on price and proximity to the port where we were to embark on the MSC Splendida for a Christmas cruise. It was a very pleasant surprise. Very modern and sleek decor in the main area, but very good customer service at the front desk. There are 2 computer terminals on the main floor, but I can't remember how much it costs, or if we had to pay. It was handy, though, for my husband and his VP to check in with the office. The elevators are a little bit small. The rooms, however, were an average size, perfect for the two of us, although some people may say it is on the smaller end. Very comfortable comforter, which was a welcomed surprise considering the frighfully cold, snowy conditions while we were there in December. We could see and hear (a little bit) the traffic jam on the highway, but it wasn't too bad. The shower was wonderful, and the bathroom was a nice size, modern, super clean. As I said, this is a great hotel if you are boarding a ship. It is a comfortable walking distance from the hotel, say 15-20 minutes, but with all our luggage, it was better for us to take a taxi. Take a taxi down to the main square, near the port, and take any of the little streets leading into the heart of the city/commercial district. Overall, an excellent stay! Great value for the price. We will be using this again this March when we go on another MSC cruise.
“Great hotel is leaving for a cruise!”
Hotel was great. Located right at docks. Food was good for breakfast except we came down late so most of hot stuff was gone. Beds were really comfortable. Subway right near by. Aquarium was great. Kids loved it. Allowed us to checkin early when cruise ship docked about 10:30 am Recommended great little pizzeria around the metro stop Would definitely stay there again. 1/2 hour walk to aquarium. Great pirate ship there too for the kids to explore which is right next door to the aquarium. Very quiet at night.
“Highly recommend”
great decoration, very Euro, set the scene for my whole trip, very comfortable room with great amenities
“Great Hotel”
lovely hotel, friendly staff. Parking was a little difficult but once we found it all was fine!
“Taxi is expensive from Savona port to Genoa airport. Holiday Genoa is excellent.”
Internet Wi-Fi in only good in lobby and maybe 1st floor, inside the room(4th floor) needs cable with 10 Eur first hour; it's been interrupted several times. After my complaint, the manager waive the charge. the instruction for local point of interest is very good, we walked to downtown in an hour, enjoy sightseeing and took the subway back to hotel. Genoa port is a small city, one day for visiting is sufficient (Not too much you can see.) From Savorna port (cruise drop off place) to Genoa airport, the taxi costs 110 Eur (less than 50km), very expensive. The train was on strike on that day. Bad luck.
“Good Value in a not so great location--but access to subway 2-3 blocks works.”
Nice interior design! Basically a very nice hotel for the price in an industrial area--no problem if you don't mind a walk to the "Principe" subway stop and a short ride to town center. Volobus goes from the Principe train station 2 blocks away to the airport. Very convienient. Wheeling suitcases over cobblestones from Principe subway to hotel --not so fun.
“Great for our purpose”
The Holiday Inn, Genoa, is a clean, modern and well-appointed hotel with all the comforts you'd expect from a multinational 4-star. We booked it for two nights, one at either end of the week-long cruise we were taking from Genoa's busy port, which the hotel overlooks, and could not have chosen a better spot for the purpose. On the day of our cruise, we had only to walk a short distance to board our ship at the Traghetti pier. The staff were helpful and the rooms were comfortable. That said, the location is a little grey and industrial, and not ideally placed for a city break centred on Genoa, as it's some distance from the city centre. If you're there for the port or have business on that side of the city it''s great, but if you're there to explore Genoa, you'd be better off choosing somewhere more central.
“Comfort in Genoa”
New hotel with modern facilities, extremely comfortable. Good location to get in and out of Genoa for visiting the surrounding area, if you arrive by car. Not city centre but access via the underground takes you there within 20 minutes including a 5 minute walk to the station.
“Modern and sufficient”
This is a modern, very clean hotel with very large rooms. The bathrooms have excellent showers. The neighborhood around it is nil, but you can take the metro just two stops to the port which has a pirate ship, aquarium, etc. The hotel is a bit dark in the hallways, but the dining room is nice and has good food.
“Nice room”
The TV wasn't working. Other than that the hotel room was nice.
