Stunning property in perfect location
We spent two nights in this wonderful two storey, three bedroom house in French Farm - 10 minutes drive from Akaroa. The french influence in the decor is evident from when you first enter. The two lounge areas offer plenty of space to relax and the spacious downstairs bedroom was perfect for us. The amazing kitchen provided everything we needed to self cater. Danielle is a very professional host and her communication about the prop was timely and comprehensive. We cannot fault this excellent accommodation and will happily stay here again when we next visit the region. We have no hesitation in recommending Maison du Campagne in French Farm to anyone seeking quality accommodation. Note: We also stayed in Danielle’s other property in Christchurch (Fitzgerald Cottage CBD) and found it to be of the same high standard.

A Parisian Fiesta!
The perfect get away for our whānau! The owner was extremely hospitible and generous, with great communication throughout. It felt like we were on holiday at our own bach - every last kitchen utensil, toiletary and homely commodety thought of. A true delight!

Everything about this property oozes comfort, style, and convenience. From the huge and well appointed kitchen, two cosy lounges and a master bedroom leading into a giant bathroom - on top of that the house is filled with beautiful trinkets, heaps of books, DVDs and Netflix if you are that way inclined! Amazing views and so quiet and peaceful. We will be back!

One of the most beautiful places I've stayed in on the Peninsula. The house has a beautiful outlook over the sea and has been exquisitely renovated with a lot of attention to detail and the era of the cottage. The kitchen is so well equipped all you need bring is food. The beds are very comfortable and the bathrooms are gorgeous with a ball and claw bath with antique style fittings. We had the most relaxing stay, eating outside both front and back, plus a second living room that can be closed off for TV watchers. Collection of records and record player were fabulous. Garden idyllic for walks and meditation. Highly recommend staying here!!!

Gorgeous location
This is our second visit to French Farm and we are very pleased that we returned. FF is a spacious house and toasty warm - might be one of the warmest houses in NZ and without the joys of having to keep a wood burner in. Netflix is a bonus. The location of the house in this beautiful area is very special with gorgeous views to the front and an 'old-fashioned' garden around.

the house is a hidden gem, we arrived late so we didnt get to see its full beauty untill moring.the sounds of nature and the view stunning , the house is warm and cosy, feeling rather spoilt underfloor heating was a added bonus , the gardens 100/100 only issue we had was no firewood for the fire hahahahaha im a sucker for a wood fire , ladies weekend away was beautfiul cant wait to return ,

Wonderful Weekend
We stayed for a weekend with our 9 month old. The property is beautiful and super warm. Underfloor heating and roll top bath were amazing! Shower pressure downstairs is great. The house has everything you need, kitchen is very well equipped, much better than your average holiday home. We will definitely be back.

We were simply blown away by the beauty of the whole place. inside and out was simply scrumptious! the decorating in the french colonial style was done to perfection and a real feast for the eyes. we were holed up for much of the stay due to bad weather and i couldnt think of a nicer place to be.

I had booked this villa for time out for a hard studying stepdaughter and myself, although 32 she or i had never stayed in anywhere like this and we were both enamoured with the house and surroundings. We had such a brilliant time resting, studying and looking around the district. I shall certainly book again. Thank you so much we absolutely loved our stay.

Large, comfortable home
The communication and easy check-in was great and the home was easy to locate. The kitchen is fully equipped with more than needed. Beds were comfortable. Two queen and two twin beds. The home was filled with interesting decorations and amenities (record player, books, etc). Everything we needed was there, but unfortunately, the washing machine was broken. From the guest book, the home has numerous repeat visitors and it's easy to see why.

Hi Angela, Many apologies regarding the washing machine. It had become an issue as it had begun leaking and we replaced it immediately after your stay. We had purchased it 2 weeks before that but the retailer let us down by not telling us that there was a wait to get the product down from Auckland, so a little bit out of our control. The house was so cute it was also nice and warm. We had everything we could of needed and more! Even had shower gels and shampoo and conditioner in the showers which was a nice extra. The host was so lovely to deal with. We would stay again for sure. Thanks for having us!

Lovely, cosy cottage, required some "child-proofing"
The location was perfect - very quiet, clean, close to the water and surrounded by trees and birds. Lovely landscaped grounds and a nice patio/grass area. The house was warm and spacious and the kitchen/living area is nicely open. The little ones loved playing the piano and the endless supply of books was a winner. The only issue for us was the large number of fragile ornaments and decorative plates. These caused some anxiety upon arrival with two toddles who are into everything; it was rather like walking to a house filled with ticking time-bombs... That said, getting these out of the way and up high enough to be out of reach wasn't too hard. Overall, it was a very pleasant visit and we would gladly stay again.
