“Better than a hotel it was more like a small apartment.”
I love this place! The location was perfect! It was right by the river and very close to the center of town. It was more like a small apartment than a hotel. There was a refrigerator and a stove. They would leave a basket full of goodies and tea bags for breakfast. They had utensils, tea cups and plates. Also a hair dryer and plenty of clean towels. The grounds keeper Paul was a very nice guy. The room was always very clean when we would come back.
“Good location, definitely recommended!”
My sisters and I stayed three nights at Residence San Niccolo. The room was a small apartment, with a separate bedroom, a living room/kitchen, and a bathroom. After a week of backpacking, we made good use of the kitchen. We found a decently sized Coop grocery store within walking distance and enjoyed cooking our own meals. The rooms were clean and the bathroom was quite roomy. Because we were a party of 3, a cot was added to the living room. The cot was a decent size, but if you put your weight on the hinge, it would try to fold up on you! Although seeing my sister stuck inside the cot was funny, the bed wasn't very comfortable. The hotel is located on the southeast corner of the tourist area, so the streets were very quiet at night. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a more homey place to stay.
“Residence San Niccolo - Comfortable suites in Florence”
Hotel is well located alongside the Arno River, about a 10' walk past the Uffizi Gallery. Although situated away from the centre of Florence and the Railway Station, it is nonetheless a good location with easy access to the Uffizi, Pitti Palace etc. Rooms are clean, spacious air-conditioned and have small kitchenettes with stove & refrigerator. A basic breakfast is provided, however you may wish to complement this with food available from the local shops.
“Excellent hotel”
We stayed here for a short family holiday. We asked for a family room and got a small apartment: two bedrooms plus bathroom. Excellent. The hotel is well located and although there is road noise, the shutters do well to keep it out. Staff were very helpful and our complete lack of Italian didn't phase them at all. Great value.
“terrific location”
the location is fantastic, our room overlooked the Arno. I wouldn't expect much more from the hotel if I didn't want to be disappointed. Service is non existent. No front desk, no room service. Continental breakfast consisted of pre-packaged pastries in a basket in the room. I still had a great time, but don't expect this hotel to be more than a place to sleep.
“Great for Families”
The location is great. Apartments are nice. Great to have a kitchen to prepare a few meals. Staff is helpful and English-speaking. We would stay there again.
“Recommended if you like the basics”
Booked in for five nights but stayed just the one! Positioned on the junction of two main roads it was very noisy throughout the nights, nearby police station did not help. Took ages to actually get the owner/manager to let us in which is not what you want after a long journey and it's hot. Shower cubicle in room 7 was crabby. Breakfast consisted of pre-packaged items left from the day before and tea/coffee making facilities consist of a pan and a cooker. Sorry but it was not what I expected and was not what I expected for **** hotel.
