“A memorable holiday”
The hotel was just as described and we were very impressed with the room, the service and the facilities. The staff, who all spoke English were very friendly and informative. It is about a twenty minute walk to the town, and there are several routes but it's hard going on the legs as it's very hilly. That said, a bus stops right outside the hotel, runs on time every twenty minutes, and stops at several interesting points. Just down the road is a fantastic pizzeria where we ate tuna carpaccio to die for and traditional Italian cream cake. The whole holiday was fantastic from start to finish and we wouldn't hesitate in going back to this lovely hotel.
“Great Place”
We chose the Park Palace because I was running the Florence marathon and it was a) near to the marathon start and b) looked like it would be a peaceful place to stay in the lead up to the race. It very much met expectations. The place was lovely. The drawing room looked like it came from an Agatha Christie novel. The staff were multi-lingual and ever helpful. The setting was beautiful with views (from our room anyway) of the Tuscan countryside. I thoroughly enjoyed breakfast each morning which was a serve yourself continental affair. Piazzale MichelAngelo and Boboli Gardens were walking distance and - for those who like to walk town was, I'd guess, 30mins on the way down - rather more on the uphill return. Anyway, buses were frequent (every 15mins or so) and the stop was just outside the hotel. Of course it won't be everyone's cup of tea. As mentioned above the hotel is by no means in the centre of town. I don't think they provide dinner though there were a couple of quite nice restaurants a few minutes walk away. And whilst our room was comfortable it wasn't what I'd call posh which might be what you are after. For us though it was great and we wished we could have stayed longer.
“Excellent”
Very good, gorgeous building, lovely staff, quiet location.
“Great experience in Florence !!”
Park Palace was a beautiful small hotel that was about 20min away from the center of Florence. I loved the location because it was quiet and peaceful. There were 2 buses that brought you into the city and a week pass cost 10euro. The bus ride especially on #13 was beautiful and relaxing after a hectic day in the city. They served a nice breakfast each morning (although I didn't always get up) and they were helpful when I needed to book a tour. I would suggest it to anyone that wanted a peaceful, beautiful get away.
“Just what we were looking for”
The Park Palace was great, away from the hustle and bustle of the center of Florence, in a beautiful neighborhood. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Complementary breakfast was just right. We walked down into the city on a number of occasions, mostly took the bus back up the hill. The buses stop right in front of the hotel Just over a mile down the hill to an entrance to the Bobali Gardens going to the right out of the hotel and just over a mile over the the Piazza Michelangelo going to the left out of the hotel. As a runner, I had the choice of a steep downhill going to the right out of the hotel, or a fairly flat course going left, with spectacular views of the city at several points along the way to the Piazza Michelangelo. We had a group of 10 and our rooms were all near each other so we could just spill out and make plans across the center open space or just have a glass of wine together on the bench outside our room. I had my Macbook and my Ipad and all in the group took full advantage of the free WiFi. A couple of nights we were too tired from a day of walking or touring and we just gathered in the living room/parlor for drinks and snacks. To take nothing away from the great restaurants we visited, those two nights were probably the most memorable of our entire trip. We were there for 6 days and we started to refer to it as "home". It really has that kind of feeling.
“Charming hotel in good neighborhood away from the the bustle”
Old world charm. Beautiful hotel, room and grounds including a swimming pool with fountain. Great breakfast that we enjoyed out on the terrace overlooking the pool and garden. Great views of the city from high on the hill. Good restaurant but not great. Negatives: 20 minute downhill walk to centre of old city was fine but uphill return trip was a bit much. Make sure that you purchase bus tickets (avail at front desk) and knowledge of routes 12 and 13 before you set out.
“Stunning and luxurious”
If you are looking for style, quality and the perfect setting then this is surely the hotel for you.... it certainly was for us! Excellent room, lovely view, polite and helpful staff, superb breakfast on the terrace, what more could anyone ask for? The hotel is slightly out of town, but well worth the short journey to have this hotel in this setting.... and with it's own private pool and secluded grounds. Goes on our list as one of the finest hotels we have found anywhere.
“lovely time”
We had an enjoyable stay at the Park Palace. The staff are very helpful. Breakfast was lovely and can be eaten on the terrace if you wish. There is a lovely restaurant about three minutes walk away for meals in the evening. The bus stops right outside the hotel gardens to it's easy to get into Florence and back.
“Poor front of house customer service experienced”
Disappointed to receive no welcome to the hotel just a "what name is it" from reception staff. Very low customer service expereince by front of house reception. No explanation of 1 Hotel facilities 2 Hotel breakfast and diining 3 Local area ie restaurants 4 Local transport without having to push front of house for full details. No information avaiable in hotel roons or ever offered. Would question 4 star rating.
