“Great location for Florence city break”

Hotel near bus and train stations and five-minute walk from Duomo etc so very central. Staff very helpful and room clean but rather small. Breakfast standard buffet and set you up for the day. Would certainly use this hotel again.

“Great for travellers”

Recently refurbished to high standard - huge bed, high ceilings, shuttered windows onto mini courtyard. Quiet apart from other guests on one occasion. Just two tiny drawers in table below flat screen TV, but clothes hanging rail. Went in October & didn't need to use air-conditioning/heating but there was a box high on the wall....But what will get us back is the location 2-300 m from main train/bus station on Pza Sa Maria Novella. Very quiet when we were there perhaps due to refurbishing Piazza

“Quite a find”

You can't really go wrong with this hotel, well okay it's not 5 star, but it's clean, tidy and all the facilities worked. It's modern interior design works very well. The staff were most friendly, curteous and very helpful. The mix of nationalities was perfect. The breakfasts were standard continental and very informal - all guests shared tables together so each morning you met someone new. Great location - less than 5 min walk to rail and bus stations and within 15 min walk of city centre. I would certainly stay again and recommend it to friends.

“Will be going back”

The hotel is in a very convenient location, under 10 minutes from the train station and a short walk to all the sights. The Piazza Santa Maria Novella is a wonderful base and the views from our windows were fantastic. There were fresh towels and sheets every day and all the communal areas were kept very clean and tidy. The breakfast was good, nice coffee and a good selection of pastries, cereal, fruit juice etc. We will definately be going back to Florence and would like to stay at the Universo again. Very happy customers!

“Absolutely adorable!”

I was actually looking forward to this hotel because it looked quite funky on Expedia. It did not disappoint!! Absolutely adorable with vibrant colours and funky design. Air conditioned with all necessary amenities. Just loved it. Super well located near the train station (where there is a bus that takes you directly from and to the airport; Vola in Bus or something like that). Nice area, across the street from Santa Maria Novella and some restaurants and just a few minutes' walk to the Duomo and other Florence highlights. Staff was friendly and helpful, breakfast was nice. Definitely will stay there again if I go back to Florence. Highly recommended.

“I'm definately staying here again”

I had a wonderful staying at Universo Hotel, superb location with a fantastic balcony in front of Santa Maia Novela Square. The hotel and the room were spotless, nice and clean, decorated very nicely with good taste, which makes you feel comforable like being home. The staff were very nice and friendly and with good manners. The facilities were great, the internet and breakfast were a plus. I look forward to staying here again,

“Very happy with Universo”

The hotel was conveniently located near Santa Maria Novella station and just a few minutes walk from the Duomo. The room was great - the funky decor was a fun change from the usual bland chain-hotel experience. Our standard double room was comfortable, quiet and spacious with nice amenities. Members of the desk staff were very helpful. I highly recommend this hotel.

Really good location in quiet square 5 mins walk from main railway station (Firenze SMN). Modern rooms, generally quiet. Good breakfast and the Internet (extra) worked well enough to keep up with emails. Loved by all the family, would book there again.
