Energetic and sophisticated, Madrid is home to extraordinary galleries, stunning architecture, and awe-inspiring monuments. Additionally, this marvellous location boasts fantastic greenery and a vibrant nightlife. Considering that this cultural hub has enough entertainments to satiate even the most discerning tastes, it is no surprise that flights are often inexpensive, making it easier for tourists to come and take in the many splendours of the city.

Best time to go to Madrid

    Peak Season:

The peak season in Madrid lasts from April to mid-June, then from September to October. Tourists come to this city in droves during the peak season, as the climate is mild and beautiful, making it easier to lounge on the rooftop terrazas, browse the El Rastro flea market, or take in some bull-fighting.

    Shoulder Season:

One of the best times to find cheap flights to Madrid is during the shoulder season, which begins in late-June and ends in August. Although the weather can be extremely warm and many of the businesses close down while the owners go on holiday, there is still plenty to enjoy in this city. For instance, you can take a stroll or listen to some live music at the Parque del Retiro.

    Off Season:

From January to March, tourists stay away from the city in order to avoid the chilly climate. Because of this, accommodations and flights to Madrid are relatively cheap. This is an excellent time to visit if you want to enjoy one of the numerous galleries, dance in one of the clubs, or simply relax in one of the luxury hotels in peace and quiet.

    Madrid Airport and transfer information

    Madrid-Barajas Airport (MAD)
Distance: 13km from the centre of the city
Many of the ground transport options from this airport are prearranged. For example, the Aerocity and Aresmobile – a shuttle bus and a chauffeured car respectively – require reservations prior to your arrival time. Although these methods may be more expensive than others, they are still reasonably-priced and make for a safe trip. Alternatively, you can take a local bus or taxi, or rent a private car.
