Peak Season:
Most tourists crowd this fabulous location from December through February, as the climate is pleasantly hot throughout the day and beautifully warm at night. These temperatures make the peak season a great time to visit, as you will be able to comfortably take part in one of the many events, such as the Royal Hobart Regatta, the Taste of Tasmania, and the Summer and Fall Music Festivals.
Shoulder Season:
The shoulder season in Hobart falls from March to June, then again in September to November. The shoulder season is a great time to visit the area; not only are flights cheap, but the weather is relatively dry and warm and the ground bursts with bright, beautiful wildflowers.
Off Season:
Flights are at their cheapest from July to August, when tourists typically avoid the area in search of warmer temperatures. Although the city may be cool and little rainy, this is still a good time to visit if you would like to indulge in one of the many indoor activities, like touring the Cascade Brewery, taking in a show at the New Sydney Hotel, or browsing the wares of the Bathurst Street Antique Centre.

The Hobart International Airport offers three options for ground transport: the airport shuttle bus, taxis and car rentals. The shuttle bus is inexpensive and takes about 45 minutes to arrive in the centre of town. Taxis and rental cars allow for more flexibility and a quicker trip; however, they can be expensive for the budget traveller.
