“Great Great holiday!”
The staff at the hotel are sensational and will do as much for you as possible to help you enjoy your stay and they try to provide everything for you free of charge as much as possible. The location is fairly isolated as it is a 4km driveway back to the main road to catch busses but its right on top of the beach with great scenery, the coral reef is 50metres from the start of the beach and there is a great outdoor bar, dining area and pool. The rooms are quite nice and the neighbouring village has wonderful ppl and they even have a couple of little milk bars if you want snacks and things. The restaurant cooks amazing food although the sizes of meals are quite unpredictable and can sometimes leave you a little peckish but the quality is fantastic. there is also a massage lady in the village that does 1hr full body massages for 35-40 fijian dollars! best thing we did was the jewel of fiji river safari a must do! we cant wait to go back again in a few years time :) not really suitable for families though as not much for the kids to do, absolutely perfect for couples though
“A lovely vacation”
I spent a lovely 10 days at this great boutique hotel. The resort is small but service was wonderful and personal - I was well taken care of during my stay. The staff was local and friendly and everything was perfectly put together for relaxation.
“Amazing Experience at Wellesley Resort!”
Before going, I knew exactly what to expect since I'd read many reviews before going. It's far from the main rd, indeed. But to be honest, there's not much near the main rd to be seen or any other place to go, such as restaurants or anything like that. And as we drove towards Coral Coast, it seemed the same happened to any other resort along the way, even though they were near to the main rd. It's the perfect place if you do want to go away from everything and have some peace and relaxing time! That's was exactly what my husband and I needed and wanted. The beach is fabulous! Landscape is breathtaking...what a gorgeous place! There's another resort nearby in case you want to have a walk around, or have dinner elsewhere, which can be reached with a stroll along the beach. The staff is great, and the manager Ray is the best! One of the most helpful persons my husband and I ever met!
“Fiji's hidden gem”
We stayed at this resort as part of a "chill out" holiday and that is exactly what we did. The resort met our every expectation. The staff were wonderful and couldn't do enough for us. They took us out in a fishing boat and the restaurant cooked the fish we caught for our evening meal. The massages are excellent too. The resort itself is set in beautiful gardens along the side of a valley. The gardens lead down to a private beach where there is excellent swimming an you can walk out and snorkel. The swimming pool is a good size and very clean. The rooms are well appointed. The restaurant serves good food and along with previous reviewers we recommend you take the full board option when you book because there simply isn't anywhere else to eat nearby. Please take note that this a adults only resort and there are no facilities for children. So if you want quiet, solitude, relaxation then this is the place for you. If you want to party please go somewhere else.
“Lush seclusion with amazing views”
We took a trip to this out of the way location after spending nearly a week at a resort near Nadi. We were wanting something secluded and away from the crowds. Although 2 hours from Nadi this destination is worth the trip. Its high on the hills with amazing views to the sea. The resort amenities are brilliant and the staff are very friendly. Highly recommended.
“Weekend Away”
We booked at the last minute, read the reviews on expedia and knew what to expect. When we arrived a the the Wellesley (late due to our transfer waiting for another plane and then the 2 hour drive from Nadi to the Coral Coast) we were welcomed, shown to our room and then taken the the restaurant to have dinner. Yes we agree that the prices are a bit out there, my husband who does not eat seafood did not have a great selection, however the selection that he did have was FANTASTIC! The vegetables were fresh, the flavours awesome and the smiling faces that served us remarkable. It is a small and intimate location and we got to know other couples and it was just what the doctors ordered. I would definately recommend the Wellesley to other people. The only downside, was the price of the food and cocktails (which we already knew). The aircon in our room was so loud that it drowned out the TV, your in Fiji what are you doing in your room. We had towels replaced and I got a towel that was stained and only half a towel supplied, the rest was wripped off. But I cannot rave enough about our time there. If your doing a couple of days and need to do nothing then this is the place for you!
“Absolute Paradise!”
I grew up in Fiji (since 87 living in the USA) but never had the chance to appreciate its beauty until this trip back with my family. We stayed 6 nights and what an amazing trip. My kids (3,8,10) and my wife thoroughly enjoyed the tranquil setting, beautiful beach & pool. Management and staff were very attentive, accomodating and friendly. The restaurant menu is limited but the overall experience more than makes up for its shortcomings. Although, the chef did cook up a special dinner on our last night upon request! Do not go by their website as that site does not do this place justice. It is more than what you see. We rented a car as this location is somewhat off the main drag and away from a major town. Definitely bring a good camera as the views are amazing. We were very saddened to leave but definitely would go back on our next trip!
“Great Resort”
We had a great stay at this hotel. The staff was very friendly and it's a perfect place for relaxation.
“Extremely Secluded but great stafd”
The resort is very seclued- away from everything. If you are looking for absolutely no noise/activities/entertainment- this one if for you. We did (a friend and I) go next door to Crusoe's Retreat where they had activities. There are no shops around the resort- the road is bumpy to get to and I can't understand why they (the owner more specifically) doesn't pave the road- few taxi's will drive up the street. The resort is about 4 km's from the main road where all cars and taxi's pass, and it's extremely hilly- probably not a good walk unless you're a hiker, even then- I still thinks it's difficult. Ensure to buy drinks/snacks before you get to the resort as they are more expensive there then in the regular shops and grocery stores. We did trips to the main cities- Suva and Nadi- took the regular city bus- which cost $3.10 Fijian dollards. The people who work at the resort are extremely nice. Very kind and work really hard. Be friendly to them- they don't make the rules at the resort. Respect goes along way on this island as everyone is extremely friendly. Queeny you are a great!!!! Thanks.
“Romantic Getaway”
My husband and I loved our 2nd Honeymoon to this beautiful resort, we just kicked back and soaked up the sun. It's small and quiet. Perfect for a romantic getaway. The free use of water equipment was great and the sea life was beautiful to watch while swimming in the crystal clear water. I would recommend that when booking this resort that the meals inclusive package is selected as there is only one restaurant with a small selection of meals and each around FJD25.00 per meal. Is a much better deal to have your meals included in the package and only be charged for your drinks at the end of your stay. We saved a copious amount! The service is a little slow but hey, your on Island time, so everything takes about 10 minutes longer than if you were at home. The staff are lovely and make the effort to make your stay there very enjoyable. My husband and I are keen for another holiday there soon.
