“Just beautiful”
What an amazing place with beautiful beach and faculties we found the staff to be very helpful and food fantastic at resturant
“Perfect Eco Experience”
The huts ('bure-s') are very cute. The hotel garden is fantastic. Ideal for young people, couples in particular. Nature lovers will love it too. Take kayak and explore the shore. The lagoon and surrounding wild beaches are exceptional. If offered, take the island trip, organized by the resort. This was my best travel experience ever. Snorkeling in the middle of the big ocean, deep sea fishing, and pilot-whales were superb. Nature lovers will absolutely love it. Locals are closely involved in running the hotel, and they may share some interesting stories about local customs (e.g., will share kava with you). Nevertheless, stay away of big towns, Suva and Nadi. Dirty, and very hectic. The Mango Bay is the place to be.
“Mango Bay is great!!”
I went to mango bay for 6 nights and had an excellent time!! the staff at the resort are so friendly and helpful and can direct you to the right person to talk to regarding things like when the island cruise is etc. Everything is done according to 'fiji time' so this helps to get you in the mood!! the free breakfast in the morning is fabulous - i think i got addicted to the jam!! the lunch and dinner meals are just divine and u always get a really big serving - totally recommend the black peppered tuna - was about $16 and u get a hhhhhhhhuge piece of tuna!! During our stay we participated in most activities including pineapple smashing, fish feeding, volleyball, jewelery making and kava ceremonies. The island cruise was an extra $100 FJD but was TOTALLY good value!! the most amazing snorkelling at yanuca island and the boat trip there was an adventure - not for the faint hearted!! We stayed in the single bed dorms which were really nice and had ceiling fans and mosquito nets so you can sleep in a cocoon :). I definitely recommend staying 6 nights at this resort we just had enough time to do most things! Suva is a 2 hour ride away so we went to Sigatoka - 40 mins away There are lots of local buses and mini vans which make travelling to other cities very affordable. Relax during the day and have a few drinks at night.
“Very Fun.”
Staying at Mango bay is like staying at a friends house. The staff is very friendly and helpful. THe hotel is not formal and anything you would like to do is just a conversation away. I will definitely go back.
“Great staff and nice resort”
We arrived late due to transportation problems but were met with a very nice staff. All of the staff was very nice (though very competative if you decide to participate in beach volleyball). All the snorkling gear was free, which was a nice bonus. We stayed in one of the beachfront bures and it was VERY nice. The bed was comfortable, the room was clean and the outdoor shower was a very nice touch. We'd definitely reccommend it here! Getting to the towns "nearby" is a bit difficult but doable. We're a couple in our late 20's, but noticed people of all ages. It generally has a 20 something aged crowd but mature travelers weren't out of place.
“Left kicking and screaming, "don't wonna go home"”
Well, the name says it all, I just didn't want to go home. As a mature traveller with a friend in tow, we had a fabulous time. The resort far exceeded my expectations and the single dorms, were clean and they even made our bed every day. As a regular backpacker traveller, this one is at the top of the list, lovely quiet spot, great priced food. They even provided fantastic entertainment, "Cyclone Tomas". The staff were extremely courteous and friendly and very helpful. Had a look inside the beachfrom bures and they were just as nice. The safari tents are no longer available and have been replaced by safari cabins, though these are situated much further back from the beach. If you are looking for a clean, friendly and budget place to stay, can't beat Mango Bay Resort. Lots of activities daily and trips to the local village etc etc. We even went to church on Sunday to experience the village atmosphere. Highly recommended
“Will definitely be going back.”
I loved Mango Bay Resort, loved it! The staff are all absolutely lovely, going to sleep every night listening to the waves crashing out on the reef and waking up to a postcard every morning. There are activities you can join in and meet other people or just sun bake on the lounges. I met some beautiful people and everyone including the staff all felt like family by the time I had to leave. It was the most relaxing holiday I have ever had.
“We LOVED Mango Bay!!!”
What a piece of paradise! Secluded, tropical beauty, comfortable open bungalos, and the friendliest people you'll ever meet! We kayak'd, snorkled, swam, sunned, and generally had a wonderful time! The chef is top notch and inventive with the food--all fresh caught and grown! If we could go back tomorrow, we would!
“Paradise!”
We stayed in a bure at mango bay for 1 week and absolutely loved every aspect of it, the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, the resort & location were both truely beautiful & there was plenty of fun activities available to do. If anyone is thinking of staying here, we recommend it 100%.
“Best resort ever”
My wife and I loved Mango Bay because it was relaxed, modern and authentic. We loved the beachfront bure as it gave us a traditional but very comfortable style of accommodation, rather then some big concrete building resort with rooms like any hotel in the world. The size of the resort is great, not so big that it takes forever to walk anywhere and the staff and guests were all really nice and youthful. By far the best thing was the quality of food. Amazing. Inexpensive and as good as any restaurant I have been to, something I really did not expect. There are lots of activities and staff do anything they can to make your experience the best it can be. Whether you stay at the resort or go on one of the many tours available, you can tailor your stay to suit your desire. Give me a seat by the bonfire at night listening to guitar watching the sun go down anytime. We had an amazing experience. The worst thing by far was leaving after making so many good friends and having such a good time. We will be back. Thanks Mango Bay!
