The biggest selling point is definitely the location. It is incredibly convenient and makes exploring the best parts of Laguna Beach very easy.
We did run into a brief issue at check-in when our first room had an overwhelmingly strong smell of chemical detergent or bleach. Fortunately, the staff was very accommodating and responsive—they changed our room immediately without any hassle. The second room was clean, comfortable, and everything went smoothly for the rest of our stay.
Keep in mind that while it is labeled a "boutique hotel," the exterior-corridor layout feels much more like a traditional motel. If you adjust your expectations for a solid 3-star motel-style property in an excellent location, it is a perfectly fine choice.
