It was great that you enjoyed your hike on The Great Walk and fabulous to base yourself at a house and do day walks rather than camping for a bit of pampering.

The houses are older beach houses with limited facilities, but comfortable as you mentioned. We are slowing updating items which need some tlc as we don't get to go off island very often as we live here permanently (no Bunnings here). The BBQ is a decent sized weber so maybe keeping some items warmed in the oven may help with larger groups. There are chinese type disposable containers under the sink for leftovers etc which are still there and are refreshed when required. Thank you for your comments we are continuing to update and refresh the house. Our latest is we have now just installed 2 new QB mattresses.

It was discussed that the pool was not operational during your stay. As all adults you said you wouldn't have been using the pool still being cold weather. There has been a small slow leak which we were hoping to find before the weather warmed up to swim. We have now found the leak and pool is operational and nice and clean again. The pool is fibreglass and really hard to find a small crack or leak so we were letting it slowly leak out so we could see where it stopped to repair. The weber BBQ is working on full burners I have since checked. When you stayed it was raining and being outdoors may have had water in them, also when the house is closed up may smell musty when raining. I can't smell it being musty but only a few windows left open for clean air flow is fine. Due again to the wet weather there is some mould on some ceilings, this is being addressed. There are covers covering the arms of the lounge and when I sit in them the springs don't collapse, it is comfortable to sit in. It was a shame it rained so much for your holiday, we are enjoying the sunshine once again.

Most of the houses on Fraser Island are very basic in style and facilities. Linen is not provided as we don't have commercial laundries on the island and with solar power is difficult to wash a huge amount of linen with no dryers and especially if it is a dull day and unable to wash due to the limited power. The light in the third bedroom had just broken so we had to wait until we had an electrician visit the island, it has now been fixed. We don't have a rubbish collection from any of the houses on the island so it is imperative for guests to remove their own rubbish to our local tip. The pool is being repaired presently due to some leaks and wasting of water to keep topping it up, so we thought best to do this in winter when the pool was not required. Thank you for your feedback.

Due to the solar power we don't have heating as do all of the houses in Eurong and Fraser Island, we live on the island including us. We just rug up with blankets, there are plenty of blankets provided in the house for this purpose. There is gas hot water and constantly heating so if one shower is a bit longer it only takes a very short time for it to heat up for the next shower. The houses are very basic in style and facilities, it is not a party house for young people. We live in a quiet, small and remote residential township so we do not encourage parties at any of the houses. We hope you enjoyed your very short visit to Fraser Island.

There is also a short bush track to walk for your morning coffee at the bakery or to visit the restaurant in Eurong only approx 200 metres, or the drive is as mentioned only 5 minutes from the Taxi House. Glad you enjoyed your Fraser Island experience we hope to see you again.

Eurong Second Valley is in a nice and quiet location with minimal traffic passing. You can hear the ocean and the birds. Thank you for staying and hopefully we will see your for your next Fraser Island adventures.
