You know what you're getting with a travel lodge and this didn't disappoint. Very clean and comfortable. Had a room at the back of the hotel and was woken at 5 am most mornings by what sounded like bins being wheeled around. The shower curtain did nothing to stop the bathroom floor being soaked and we had to dry it with our towels. All that said I would stay there again

Very good location 5 minutes walk from St Andrews Square, 10 minutes from Waverley station and 15 - 20 to the Royal Mile and Edinburgh Castle. Recently refurbished so in very good condition. Really handy additions like usb charging sockets. Family room was a good size and had all we needed with tea and coffee and a TV in the room. Bathroom was clean, plenty of towels, hand wash and bath and shower gel in the bathroom. A little noise both from outside and within but nothing excessive that bothered us. A very pleasant stay, staff friendly which made for a very enjoyable trip.

The heat was not working properly and it only goes up to 68 and it was really cool. Also a lot of noise and you have to pay for Wi-Fi. Only get 30 min free a day

Staff were lovely and very helpful. The hotel is in a good location but very basic even for a travel lodge.. no iron or hairdryer in room, bathroom needed some TLC.

The toilet smelled of pee the entire time we were there. The front desk clerk was not very friendly- I had an extremely small duffel bag and was a couple hours early for check in so I asked him to kindly store the bag for me. Instead of assisting me with this he refused to hold this little bag, stating there was no space and instead sent me three blocks down the street to a bus stop to store that little bag. I had a limited time there and felt he was being difficult for no reason. To make matters worse, I had my young son with me and had to drag him down to the station with me. This whole ordeal really put me in a bad mood on our very first day visiting Scotland. To make matters worse, I might have missed the fine print stating that there was no air conditioning in the room so we had to open all the windows and they gave us this tiny, dusty, dirty fan to help circulate air in the room. It was a hot night and we didn’t sleep very well… and who knows how many insects might have crawled into the room overnight as well.

The property is not well marked so ypu need to watch for it. Amenities are very basic and do not included wifi which was surprisinng for the cost of the room. Also, the bathroom floor was not in good shape and the shower had also seen better days.

terrible service ---- always smiling but absolutely no genuine interest and did'nt care . such a simple request such as room being cleared each morning fresh towels became a problem ---was advised ' instructions ' left in the room but that was present in the room --- reception Kevin the made a face ! next day had no memory of our conversation ---- recommendation AVOID if you are looking for just basic service /good manners

There was no one at reception when we arrived. There were instructions for early check-in but no bell to call for staff (we arrived at 9pm). We were able to call the hotel and someone was able to pick up and come to reception. Otherwise, we had a very nice stay. It was very quiet even though it's located at a busy street. Lots of shops and restaurants around. We parked at the street, which we were surprised to find was free during the time we parked too. Overall, a great stay despite the slight inconvenience at check in.

Advertised on Expedia as free onsite parking however this was only for blue badge holders. Closest parking is 20 min walk away and payment required, although hotel offer discount, still not ideal and misleading.

Room was clean, staff were friendly and helpful. But the wifi availability was very disappointing. You had the option to get 30 minutes free every 24 hours, or pay £3 to get free wifi for 24 hours. I opted to pay the £3, payment was taken from my bank and confirmation was sent from both the bank and travel lodge, however the wifi still didnt connect. Needs a big review of that, 99% of hotels offer free wifi for the duration of your stay, travel lodge are a bit behind on this. Also need to ask reception for a hair dryer

A very simple hotel close to everything in the centre of town. The one working lift was tiny, so we were glad to be on the first floor and just took the stairs every time.

Comfortable hotel for family
I went with my family and kids, it was a very pleasant experience. Hotel is neat and tidy; located just walk from city center. You can easily walk around come back and relax.

There are no staff present as it is an auto check-in so can't comment on them. Eevrything was fine except for a very hard and lumpy mattress.

Ordentliches Hotel in Centrumsnähe
Wir waren auf Schottland Tour und haben unsere erste Nacht in diesem Hotel verbracht. Da wir erst um 0.30 Uhr im Hotel ankamen, blieb nur wenig Zeit, große Unternehmungen durchzuführen. Wir haben vielmehr einige Bars mit Live Musik im nahe gelegenen Kneipenviertel besucht. Der Portier des Hotels hatte uns hierfür einige Tipps gegeben. Es ist zu empfehlen, Insiderinformationen beim Nachtportier einzuholen. Eine Enttäuschung war am Morgen der Gang zum Frühstück. Es gab leider keinen Frühstücksraum, sondern uns wurde ein Breakfast to go ausgehändigt. Diese Tatsache sollte bei der Buchung des Hotels deutlicher zum Ausdruck kommen. Ein Trost war das in der Nähe gelegene französische Frühstückslokal, bei dem wir uns für den bevorstehenden Tag ausgezeichnet stärken konnten (full englisch Breakfast).
