“Great Hotel Great Location”
From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with a very friendly staff. The room was very inviting and well appointed with modern decor along with heated floors in the bathroom. The peaceful roof top garden terrace had a great ambience and was a nice treat to walk out to from our room. The one caution I would have is to maybe avoid going to bed early on a Friday or Saturday night......the bass from the night club next door can be heard from your room.
“if you get the chance, stay here”
everything was lovely. the room and the service
“A wonderful hotel”
My wife and I booked into one of the rooms on the roof terrace which was a good choice, the views were spectacular, and the terrace was a great place to sit just outside your room in the sun. The size of room was excellent and the bathroom was stunning. However, I felt that the hotel had a slight prefabricated feel to it and was let down by a few details. Some of the hinges were loose in our room and the doors didnt close properly. The materials used in the construction were of the cheaper variety, i.e fake marble on the walls - although it's impact was very good. Attention to detail in the bathroom by the plumber was missed, but our overall impression was good, the large low level bath being especially luxurious. The low ceilings in the bar area, (which was serve yourself and fill in the book on trust) gave a claustrophobic feel. Much better to head for one of the bars, although not in the horrendous entertainment complex next door. The staff were all very helpful, especially the doorman (with the hat) who made you feel especially welcome !
“Outstanding -Would recommend to anyone.”
Staff was very helpful and friendly. Great location for walking to Royal Mile. Very modern, while the rooms were not large, very well organized.
“Excellent for romantic treat”
We had balcony suite, room 49. Superb location, we preferred to look our over life of the City than the quiet of the roof garden. Breakfast was too expensive and not that great, and we found it better to walk out into the nearby Shopping Mall. Evening meal choices within a minute from front door included Spanish, Japanese, Italian, pub. Indian and Thai across the road. Good central location. Only glitsch was we never really mastered the balcony door to the friendly amusement of hotel staff! Staff very welcoming.
“Very high quality hotel and staff”
We were touring on a motorbike and arrived outside the hotel to be greeted by the very friendly and smart looking doorman who really set the standard for our stay at the Glass House. He organised a porter to help carry all our gear. This is a large hotel and we had quite a walk from reception so the extra help was invaluable. The decor of the Hotel was modern and impressive but still comfortable. Then we got to our room, and it was amazing. They really do think of everything. This was our Wedding Anniversary and the wife made me clear how impressed she was! Didn't eat at the Hotel so cannot comment there, in fact we barely touched the surface of what was on offer. Might stop a bit longer on our next anniversary!
“impressive service”
The Glasshouse is in an excellent location for exploring "old town" and "new town" both. Our room was lovely, crisp white Frette sheets and spotlessly clean. The bathroom was small (as usual) but the rooftop garden was a very nice escape. Would have been nice to have coffee available either in the room or lobby, but all in all, an excellent hotel.
“Simply Fabulous Hotel.”
Our stay at the Glasshouse could not have been better. The doorman is friendly and fantastic. Our room was excellently decorated, luxurious, a decent size, and even had a huge balcony. We were never bothered by housekeeping, but our room was always serviced while we were out. when we arrived, we found a complimentary bottle of champagne on ice in our room (we were on our honeymoon). This hotel was a GREAT find.
“Great Hotel”
Close to the city center and the service is fantastic
“Very impresive hotel!”
Travelled to Edinburgh with my husband and 2 children (2 and 4 years of age). Our family absolutely loved this hotel. Would absolutely stay here any time in Edinburgh. The hotel staff was wonderful and took care of every need imaginable. Rooms were extremely clean and beautifully decorated. The hotel is conveniently located and the staff gave us accurate suggestions for visiting the city. Can't say enough how much my family loved this hotel!
