“Barcelo Rocks!”
Lovely hotel, amazing location, great breakfast, relaxing spa. Would go back tomorrow!
“Excellent Edinburgh”
Thecstaff were very friendly & accommodating throughout our stay. The deputy manager was excellent - Kimberley. The location & therefore views from the hotel were excellent, thoroughly recommended.
“Nice stay...”
It was a nice stay. The hotel doesnt have parking facility in the Hotel. The parking is quiet far from the hotel and they charge £ 4 for overnite parking. Nobody told us that we have to collect our vehicle before 6 am in the morning and we went at 8 am to collect our vehicle and they charged £ 17 in total. So please be aware if you are on self driving package. The hotel good for tourist on the other than self driving package. It is centrally located and clean hotel. The rooms are also big.
“Value for money”
The hotel is more than adequate, presenting good value for money in what is in my opinion an overpriced city for accommodation. Breakfast was included and was very good. The room was nice, warm and comfortable with plenty of storage and a tea/coffee tray. The bathroom was nice and adequately spacious with unlimited hot water. The downside for me was that the sheets were dirty and I didn't realise until the first morning as the sheets are tightly tucked in around the bed. I asked for them to be changed and they did this without any fuss at all. However, I was still feeling slightly uncomfortable as I wasn't even sure what was on the sheets. Our room faced onto the bridge which at a weekend becomes very busy with loud groups of people, particularly on the Scottish cup final weekend. We were woken at about 7am on Saturday morning to groups of men chanting as they made their way up the road. The single glazed window keeps very little noise out and in fact, the curtain was more effective in this respect. Overall, I would recommend this hotel if you aren't looking to spend too much money but do request a room which doesn't overlook the bridge. Ann
“Carlton - Edinburgh”
The location of the hotel is brilliant literally moments from the train station and the staff are friendly and professional. My first room was disappointing as you could not shut the window, but within an hour they had moved me to another room on the 5th floor which was much bigger and had a view. The hotel has all the facilities for a short overnight stay but the decor is quite tired so I would not want to stay there for longer than a couple of nights.
