“WAW”
an incredible stay, friendly staff. center of the city. super modern must have been renovated recently. strongly recommend.
“Weekend Break in Edinburgh”
We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express just off the Royal Mile for our weekend break. The hotel was very conveniently situated; not too far from Waverley Station and with all the sights within easy walking distance. The hotel appeared to be fairly new and the rooms were clean and confortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. A buffet breakfast was included, which is one reason we went for this hotel, as we find we do want a little something to get us going in the morning, but we don't want to pay lots or sit around waiting ages to order breakfast when all we really want is some cereal and toast!
“Amazing Value and location”
My husband and I stayed at the holiday inn express for 3 nights. We got a taxi frm the airport which cost around £15. However we got the bus back for 3.50 each which was very easy once we had our bearings. The taxi driver gave us lots of info about the city as we drove to the hotel and also helped us to work out where we were in relation to the key sights. Really lovely and friendly introduction to the city. The hotel itself was excellent. It is only a couple of years old and still looks fantastic. Our room was perfect, with a really comfy bed and superb bathroom. The buffet breakfast is also excellent and sets you up for the day. The location of the hotel was perfect for us and everything was within easy walking distance. This review probably sounds a bit gushing, but I honestly cannot fault this hotel at all. We were delighted with it, especially for the very reasonable price in comparison to other hotels in this area.
“Good Place to Stay”
For our family this was the perfect location, with the room and other facilities being just what was needed for our visit.
“Great location!”
I couldn't think of a better location for a value-priced hotel to see Old Edinburgh. The hotel is located about 2 blocks off of the Royal Mile (the main drag of shops and restaurants leading to Edinburgh Castle) and is only about a 15 minute walk to the main train station. The hotel is new and very clean and modern. The rooms are on the smallish size, but typical for the UK and Europe. The one thing we didn't like was that when the sofa bed was open (we were 3 so needed the extra bed) you couldn't use the desk, as there was no room to pull out the chair. Also, there was free internet service in the common areas, but none in the rooms. Breakfast was included and was adequate, but nothing spectacular. Take-away cups for coffee or tea and some protein source such as hard boiled eggs would have been much appreciated. The staff was friendly and helpful. We would defintely stay at the Holiday Inn Express Royal Mile if we traveled again to the beautiful city of Edinburgh.
“Good Value for Money”
We arrived very early wanting to leave our baggage till it wascheck in time and were greated by a friendly member of staff allocated us a room, and waived the addtional early check in charge. We always found the staff very friendly whenever we had a question. The rooms were very cleanand of a very good standard if a little basic, but overall great value for money. An Internet connection was avialable in reception for a £3.00 charge. The included breakfast consisted of a continental choice plus sausages and scrambled eggs, which was the same both mornings we stayed. This was adequate for our needs though. Overall the location of the hotel was the best point, very central and I would certainly stay there again.
“Impressed”
Edinburgh is a great, ancient city. Loved everything about it. People were friendly and the hotel was great. The hotel was busy and breakfast was quite crowded. The food was good but could be a little more choice in hot cooked food supplied. Otherwise the room was connected to our friends' room & we were very pleased.
“friendly festival hotel”
In easy walking distance of the royal mile and festival shows. Clean, comfortable and friendly staff. Breakfast buffet included was ok for the money. Very enjoyable overnight stay. i would highly recommend this express hotel.
“Perfect Edinburgh Hotel”
Everything about the hotel was perfect - attractive, clean, great location close to the Royal Mile. But the most impressive part of the hotel was the attentive staff; they even fixed breakfast for us at 3:30 in the morning!
“Great Hotel, Great Location”
This hotel is only a few hundred meters from the Royal Mile. It is easily accessible by bus or taxi from the airport. Rooms are quite roomy by European standards. The hotel is only a short walk from Holyrood Palace and Edinburgh Castle. Water, drinks and a decent bar are located in the lobby. Free breakfast every morning is included in the price. Overall, a good value, and a great hotel.
