Jasmin was an excellent host and breakfast was lovely. The room is a little tired and could do with updating, although it is still very comfortable and not an issue. The property is well situated with a ten minute walk into the city and only a couple of minutes from the tram.
We had a lovely stay at Hanover house hotel. Small friendly hotel. Nothing was too much bother for Jasmin. Beautiful breakfast five star poached eggs!
We will definitely be back. Thank you 🙏
We had a very comfortable stay. Jasmine was really friendly and welcoming and gave us clear instructions on how & where to park.
Breakfast had a good selection with fresh fruit, cereals, yoghurt and cooked breakfast on offer with juices and tea/coffee.
Nice touch to have some biscuits left in our room and hand soap and shower gel.
The accommodation is a little dated in the decor but clean and comfy.
Great location for central Edinburgh with restaurants and cafes just around the corner. Tram and buses very close by too.
All in all, good value for money.

Lovely stay at the hotel , Jasmin was the perfect host very friendly and extremely helpful , would never hesitate to stay here again
We had a lovely 3 night stay during the fringe festival. The room was comfortable. Jasmine was a wonderful host. The breakfast was tasty and set us up well for the day! Also, Macdonald Road tram stop is a few minutes walk away - so handy! :)
Jasmin, the lady who ran this place was very friendly and helpful. When i booked, I didn't realize breakfast was included. That was a bonus. Only thing that could be improved is wifi signal.
Jasmine our host couldnt be more wonderful and went the extra mile for our anniversary. Breakfast was great and the room well kept and cleam. Thanks Jasmine.
The property is a typical bed and breakfast. The room was small, but it had everything we needed. Breakfast was great and the coffee divine. The owner was accommodating. It was an easy walk to Old Town and the Royal Mile. I would recommend The Hanover House Hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable hotel at a reasonable price.
Jasmine is a good host. The rooms are nice and clean. The wifi is good. You feel that you are in a home rather than in a hotel. Since the building is old you can sometimes hear people outside and the neighbours. There is no lift. The rooms are one floor up. If you do not mind this then you will have a good time. I had a very nice stay.
Hanover House Hotel is in a great location, a little bit off the beaten path but easy access to shopping, theater, and dining in a quiet setting. The breakfast was delicious, home cooked, with numerous choices.
The breakfast is excellent which is delicious. If you want to try the traditional English breakfast, it is recommended. The only thing reminded is that the Wi-Fi is not strong, but I guess you won’t stay at hotel room to surf the Internet without going out to enjoy the beautiful scene of the city!
Absolutely loved it.youre made more than welcome, breakfast is incredible and cooked to order including haggis if you wish.
The owner is just so incredibly nice ,helpful and nothing is to much trouble.
Thoroughly enjoyed stay, and will go again.
Thanks for making us feel like part of the family.

This is a great location to visit Edinburgh, close enough to get in easily but far enough away so it’s quite, will definitely tell anyone who wants to visit to stay here.
Host and staff very helpful and nice, an all round great stay, Many Thanks Ian & Laura Donovan
Jasmin the host was friendly, warm, welcoming and very helpful. Her Hotel is first class. Clean and fresh room, warm and plenty of towels. Our room was vacuumed and tidied whilst we were out. The breakfast was top quality as was the coffee. All food stuffs were of the highest quality and freshly prepared. Jasmin was so nice we were sad to leave. We will stay here again.
We enjoyed our stay at the Hanover hotel. We were made to feel welcome the breakfast was lovely. The location is also spot on only a short walk to bars and restaurants.
- Excellent location
- Ambiance of an old classic Scottish home where the keeper, Jasmin, makes it an authentic home experience rather than that of a hotel. She is the sweetest hostess one could ever encounter.
We were warmly welcomed and well looked after during our stay. Warm and clean as well as a comfy bed. Breakfast was delicious. Quiet street that is situated in an area with plenty of lovely cafes and restaurants. We walked everywhere and it was just so easy to get around.
A very welcoming landlady. Location was within easy walk to the city centre, bus stops and the tram system. Parking was with a permit; we did not take a car so I do not know how that would work.
