“Closet Airport”
Would stay there again because of the value. It is near the airport, is very clean and comfortable. The staff is extremely friendly and. Helpful.
“OK if you need to be at the airport quickly”
Only stayed overnight as we had an early plane to catch so it satisfied our needs. Hotel was fair, would suit family stays or early air travellers.
“Value for Money.”
Overall It was very satisfying experience with Hotel. After arriving at the hotel I requested them for 2 separate Beds instead of 1 Bed and the staff there made the required arrangement. Stay is well priced and worth the money spent. Only Complaint is , I found the toilet was not properly cleaned.
“great location for working in Ballymun”
great service, very low price. awesome place to stay if you are working in Ballymun. not a good place to stay for Dublin sight seeing. two complaints: (1) dead light bulbs in bed side lamps (2) no lunch service
“Wonderful Value”
1. There are council houses nearby. Don't give them a bother. 2. Wi-Fi at Travelodge is expensive. Go to the coffee shop across the plaza. 3. Across the street is Tesco and SuperValu. Good selection of fruits/veggies. 4. People at the bus stop are very helpful. 5. Hotpot in the room will serve you for coffee, tea, cup of soup. 6. Travelodge supplies you with coffee, tea, milk, wooden stir. 7. Take bus 4 or 13 to go to downtown. Ticket is E1.80. 8. Part of the building is apartments, but not a worry. 9. Not a great deal to see in Ballymun. 10. Don't forget DART Rail to see the seaside. 11. Great Wi-Fi downtown at McDonalds, SuperMacs and the Public Library. 12. The Public Library is in a downtown shopping center. 13. Across from the library is Lidl, a great grocery store with the best bakery. 14. A great place for lunch is Marks & Spencer at the deli in the basement. 15. The restaurant upstairs at M&S is overpriced. 16. Dublin is a value place to visit when compared with an overpriced Europe.
“Dirty, in a bad neighborhood.”
Awful!!!
“Too much noise from the homeless shelter behind hotel”
There is a HUGE homeless shelter behind the hotel. Cab driver advised us not to go out of the hotel at night. Could hear noise from the shelter at night.
“Nice Hotel”
It had everything we needed: a comfy bed, room darkening curtains, a tv and a nice bathroom. This entire place looks rather new. The people at the front desk were very helpful and even helped us order pizza. There is a bus stop to get into town right outside the hotel.
“great hotel!”
the hotel experience was great. the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. the cafe had a nice menu with decent prices. its only downfall was location, not the best neighbor hood my purse was stolen not far from the hotel would highly reccomend bringing minimal personal items when touring.
“Don't believe the negative hype !!”
This place was fine. Me and the wife stayed there for 6 days and it fulfilled our needs. Dubliners badmouthed the area....some travellers here badmouthed the area; I say, don't believe the hype. I'm from the Delaware Valley; Ballymun reminds me of NE Phila. except even more safe. If you get scared by the mere sight of a lower-middle class part of a city, then Ballymun might not be for you. If you are city-wise, Ballymun is fine. It's just not touristy...you will be among 'real' Dubliners is all. Though a couple miles outside the city center, it's right on a bus stop (the 4 and 13 lines go right downtown). In 15 minutes, you're downtown. Buy a bus pass; easier than fumbling for change. Yes, the taxi from the airport is pricey, but guess what? Taxis are expensive everywhere in town!! That's not the hotel's fault. We're not talking 5-star amenities here, but for what I paid, the joint was fine. Clean, staff was nice, etc. Sometimes the staff can have trouble giving directions or instructions, but one thing we found was that this seemed like a general Irish cultural trait. I would use this hotel again if I went back to Dublin....
