“lovely hotel and grounds”
very nice hotel in outskirts of city. lovely gardens.
“Could be better”
The hotel staff was great. Very friendly and accommodating. The hotel is beautiful and on very nice grounds, but guests tended to be older and the hotel felt very formal The room was ready for us when we arrived at about 9 AM which was great because we were able to take showers and change after the flight over. Maid service was great. The room was very clean and neat, but obviously in need of some repairs/ maintenance (cracked tiles in the bath, etc.) While the AC worked, it did not work well enough to keep the room cool, even at max AC setting. The only time you actually felt the cool air was by placing your hand next to the vent. The vent in the bath didn't work either, which would have been helpful in clearing the humidity after a shower. The hotel bar was very nice, with beautiful decor and views. Unfortunately, they did not start their full dinner menu until after 9 PM, and they had a very limited breakfast menu, so we never did eat there. Nor did we try the Italian restaurant in the hotel, which looked to us as rather fancy. The hotel location was not very desirable because there was nothing around it in terms of shops or restaurants or attractions, so everything required a trip to Dublin city center, which was a good 20-30 minutes by bus (about $3/person) or 10-15 by cab (about $20 for 2-3 passengers). This became a problem because it was too inconvenient to go back and forth to the hotel during the day.
“Nice Hotel, Decent service, Too far from the center.”
Nice Hotel, Decent service, Too far from the center. The additional, multiple taxi rides into the center add up quickly.
“Delightful Dublin”
Our family of four had a wonderful time in Dublin, the Hotel staff was very accommodating and helpful with all of our questions about transportation. They even helped us to find a riding stable for our youngest daughter to be able to go riding while we where vacationing in Dublin. No request that we made of them was too large, and they happily granted every request that we made. It was a fantastic vacation.
“Everything and Much More”
The hotel is basically a castle. The grounds was very beautiful and well kept. The Hotel staff was the most friendly and welcoming, and the bus stop was a short walk away. Free Wifi was available in the Hotel lobby. The hotel staff was also helpful 2 months prior to my arrival. I emailed them some questions about early morning transportation to the Heuston Station and they set up a taxi for me. During our stay the air conditioning went on the fritz, and they upgraded us to the Business Suite. It was amazing. I have nothing bad to say about the Radisson Blu St. Helens. I highly recommend this to EVERYONE to stays in Dublin.
“Broken air conditioning”
Air conditiooning unit was broken in room, and the staff looked at it when we were out. They did not get back to us with an answer; I had to contact them. Their final sugggestion was that we move to another room. We di dnot take them up on it because it ws our last night. An adjustment to the bill would have bee more appropriate.
“Great hotel but a bit of a travel to get to downtown Dublin”
The hotel was very nice. Clean, staff was great and very helpful with telling us how to catch the buses/calling for a taxi for us, room service/food was great, amenities in the business class suite were very nice, the hotel grounds were beautiful, etc. I would definitely recommend it. The only complaints I had were: 1. We were not allowed to take the food we wanted from the breakfast buffet we prepaid for back to our room (we had a sick baby a few days we were there and also did not have time to sit and eat the morning we had to go to the airport to fly home). Next time I would not pay $ ahead of time for the breakfast and would just pay the mornings we were able to sit and eat. 2. The hotel is NOT close to downtown or the train so we had to bus into town or take a taxi in order to take tours, walk around Dublin, catch the train, etc. There is a bus stop in front of the hotel so that is just a short walk to catch the bus.
“Staff made our stay excellent.”
Our stay at this hotel was excellent. We had room service a few times which was always great and prompt. What a view we had of the gardens from our room window! I have to say walking up to the front of the hotel made us feel as if we owned the Estate. The hotel and grounds are beautifully maintained. The bus ran right out front which we utilized every day. I selected the hotel because of their availability for 3 persons in a room (not easy to find in Europe) and the fact we took an air coach from the airport directly to the hotel. The room was very clean and the bathroom shower had great water pressure and we always had clean towels. Being located approx. 10 minutes from city center was no problem at all as I stated above we used the bus every day (purchase the bus pass it is well worth it). It was quiet at night, warm and very comfortable. I would absolutely stay there again.
“Dream in Dublin”
Wonderful sums it up. Start to finish this hotel and its staff were fantastic. Would visit again and often. Kudos!!!!
“Good spot”
