“Sharyne J”
This is a great hotel, the internet in the room is FREE! I like the free shuttle from the airport. The staff there is very helpful.
“Great Transit Airport in Dubai - Super close to Airport, free shuttle and wifi. Easy Metro access!”
Great hotel near the Dubai airport. I stayed transiting through and had 14 hours. The room was very nice, clean and comfortable. The free shuttle runs every half hour and you can take it to the airport and hop on the metro to Dubai if you want. Free wifi as well, and all of this at a fraction of the price of the main hotels around the airport. Highly recommended.
“If you need something cheap by the airport, this is fine”
We stayed in a family room during a 14 hour layover in Dubai. We just needed a place to sleep for a few hours between flights and for that, this place was fine. The hotel reminded me a little of a college dorm decorated by Ikea, serviceable but not fancy. On the bright side, the airport shuttle was prompt, quick, friendly and free. The room was clean (but tiny). They provided a free baby crib, the shower was hot with good water pressure and there was free wifi. There was no soap or shampoo in the bathroom, we had our own so we didn't ask if it was provided. I wouldn't stay here more than one night, but I'd certainly come back in a similar situation.
“Superb value, right next to DXB”
A brand new hotel (in November 2011), with precisely the features needed by transit travelers. Fairly large room, super high speed internet, excellent selection of satellite TV channels, good choices of restaurants and bars on-site, as well as a Costa Coffee right in the lobby. Free shuttle bus every 30 minutes to/from the airport, which is literally across the highway. Free shuttle bus also to the Festival City Shopping Mall, about 1km away.
“Great Airport Hotel!”
I stopped here for the night while flying back from Kandahar (Afghanistan), before flying to Kuwait to return my kit. Excellent location -- right across the street from DXB. You will need to take a taxi (about $10 US) from terminal 2 if you arrive there (for us DoD contractor types). Free shuttle from terminals 1 & 3 for the rest of the travelers. They do offer a free shuttle drop off to all 3 terminals, so no problems there. Hotel is new, clean, and modern. Rooms are outstanding. Bed was wonderful! I had a great cheeseburger and a few pints of outstanding beer in their bar -- a true treat after a year in the Afghan desert. For the fellas coming back from theater, there are no working girls in the bar to bother you (good or bad -- it's your call. If you are looking for that type of company, try the Millennium Hotel just down the street -- their bar is stocked). Breakfast buffet is outstanding -- a complete English breakfast if you are into that sort of thing. Good lighter fare choices as well.
“Almost perfect”
Here are the good points: 1. The Premier Inn has a super-convenient location, within 600 meters of Dubai's main metro line and a short ride via a free shuttle to DXB terminals 1 and 3, which are the main international terminals. 2. The hotel staff are probably the friendliest, most helpful, and courteous staff I have ever seen -- without exception -- anywhere in the world. The high quality of the hotel staff would be sufficient reason by itself to select this hotel. 3. This "airport hotel" is amazingly quiet -- even though airplanes are taking off about 1500 meters away and there is an expressway immediately adjacent. No outside noise at all can be heard. 4. There is a 24-hour coffee bar, with light snacks. 5. Rooms are small and minimally furnished, but spotlessly clean and comfortable. Requests for things like extra hangers or extra towels are fulfilled in a matter of minutes. The only weak link is the small restaurant. The quality of the food is excellent and reasonably priced, but the variety is limited, especially at breakfast. Like everyone else at this hotel, the servers are friendly, but the overall service is very slow, appears to be disorganized, and not as attentive as it should be, even when there are only four or five customers. This can be fixed with a little training of the restaurant staff, because they all appear sincerely to want to please the customer.
“DXB”
Good, internet connection not the best in all rooms, but otherwise a good value for the price.
“Good place for a layover”
Prices have gone up over 30% since I stayed there six months ago. I like the hotel, but for a short layover, it is too pricey.
“Great and Reasonably Priced”
I normally stay in higher priced hotels in Dubai on the company nickel. Because of an overlap in my leave time, I found myself having to pay for a hotel on my own nickel during peak season. The Premier Inn fit the bill. This hotel is quite nice, especially when you consider the overall cost. It is conveniently located near a metro stop; it extremely clean; has super friendly staff members; and a decent bar/restaurant in the lobby. Plus, the internet is free and super fast. The hotel also has a convenient shuttle to the terminals of the airport across the way. I highly recommend this hotel. John
