“Good and clean hotel”
The hotel is good with proper basic rooms. There are not many facilities in the hotel. The breakfast is good and provides most basic food (except warm dishes). The hotel is located in an area with educational institutions, Knowledge Village, so no activities in the evening. Overall a good value for money
“Location Location Location”
Dubai is a city built for tourists and priced to match. This hotel was cheap but out of the way, had to get a taxi for everything. Although new and modern looking, fittings and fixtures were already broken, adjustable height handheld shower bracket broken, toilet paper holder broken, desk lamp loose, bed way too firm, pillows thin, thin door to room (not fire door) and very noisy corridor. Staff helpful. Lobby has handy shop for water, snacks, necessities etc but at inflated prices e.g. water 5 dh, supermarket 0.50 dh.
“Extremely close to Cisco campus for CCIE Lab's”
5 Minute walk to the Cisco office building. Was able to leave the room and be at the Cisco office waiting for the proctors at 730AM, did not have to wait on a taxi or rush around the morning of my Lab attempt.

The rooms were very old and were not updated. I used the coffee pot and cups which made the cups dirty. They took the cups in the bathroom to wash them rather than give me clean ones:( The room was kind of musty and there were no complimentary soap,lotion or shampoo. I moved the couch in the room and it haden't been cleaned in months if not a year or so. The lobby is nice. Now the rooms need to catch up to that standard. The room rate was good for being close to the marina.

I landed in Dubai without a hotel reservation. I took a taxi to a hotel that I knew would have internet in their business center, got on expedia.com, and the reserved a room at the Express Holiday Inn. My girlfriend works at a hotel in Sharjah, northeast of Dubai, and the whole point of my trip was to see her for a few days. A problem arose when she came to the hotel to see me. We are not married yet, and the front desk of this hotel wouldn't allow us to go to my room together. There are very strict laws regarding sharing rooms, sharing taxis in the UAE. Things are supposed to be different in the city of Dubai, but I didn't find them to be so.
