“Very impressed”

This a 5 stars hotel at 4 stars price. The hotel staffs are very friendly and the room is big & clean. The Dubai metro train station is only a 5 minutes walk from the hotel. You have the choices of taxi or metro train for transportation. The hotel is also within walking distance to the Mall of the Emerates.

“Impressed with this hotel”

We chose the Holiday Inn Al Barsha on the basis of its location close to The Mall of the Emirates and on its price. It is a quite a way from the city, but within a short walk of the Mall. There is also a train station close by! Our rooms were clean, comfortable and quiet, we ate in one the restaurants and found it good fare and great value. It was a 20 minute taxi ride to the Airport which cost us about $AU20 in an immaculately clean vehicle! The staff were very attentive and efficient without being over the top - overall a very good mid-range hotel to stay at. My only gripe was having to pay $AU10 for an hour of wireless internet in the lobby, with only a wired connection for the same price in our room! WiFi was free in nearly every hotel in the USA!

“Best view of the Burj Al Arab”

The hotel staff was friendly and accommodating and the hotel has several restaurants to tickle all taste buds. And then the hotel is perfectly located within walking distance (3min walk) from the Mall of the Emirates and the famous Ski Dubai, with a great view of the Burj Al Arab.

“Jewel In The Desert”

The hotel far exceeded my expectations for a reasonably priced hotel. The staff was attentive, courteous, and extremely professional. It's located right around the corner from the Emirates Mall, which was in my plans because I wanted to ski indoors in the Middle East. The breakfast buffet was outstanding, although overpriced. The sports bar had a great staff and atmosphere. The room was spacious, comfortable, and quiet. There were quite a few national swimming teams staying there for a major competition, and the international flavor added to the festive holiday atmosphere (the week before Christmas). The only downsides to my stay were that there isn't a shuttle service to and from the airport, the TV channel selection was extremely limited, and I had to call room service for ice, because there aren't any ice machines. Are there better hotels in Dubai? Most certainly. Are there better hotels for the price? I seriously doubt it. I will definitely return to the Holiday Inn when i return to Dubai.

“Disappointed”

I went to Dubai on a 5 day trip and decided I'd try out the Holiday Inn Barsha. I've been to the Mojito Bar before and thought the lobby looked really good for a 4-star hotel. Well appearances can be.. you know the rest. The main problem with this hotel is the service, it's slow and lazy. I've ordered room service 3 times during my stay and every time there was something missing, I'd have to call back and tell them to bring me the missing item...and they never did. Ketchup, tea, water, nothing. Moving on...I had a corner room with big windows that made these cracking noises so often and loud, it sounded like rocks were being pelted at the window. It wasn't easy going to sleep. Also, make sure you put a do not disturb sign outside your door at all times, otherwise you'll get a knock every few hours, whether it be house keeping, turn down service, or a mistake (happened twice). I suggest if you're looking for a hotel, stay somewhere else.

“Room was not very clean.”

We stayed at the hotel previously and it was just fine. However, this time the room was not ready when we arrived. We waited for an hour and then to find the room not very clean. They obviously had not vacuumed the room or dusted. I don't need a fancy room - just a clean room, and this was not clean. We won't stay there again - there are many other hotels in the area that are just as convenient.

“Excellent value 4* accomodation with good travel connections”

With the opening of the new Metro station in the Mall of the Emirates this hotel is now well positioned as a convenient urban value 4* hotel for anywhere from central Dubai and the Southern corridor. Accomodation was excellent and an upgrade was given to an executive suite almost without asking. Free internet from a wired connection in the rooms was good value. Like most hotels the restaurant food and mini bar is of questionable value but with the Mall of the Emirates close by there is no need to eat in the Hotel if you don't want to. Room and bathroom were excellent. Didn't try the Gym or pool but they looked nice. The Hotel has no grounds and is the middle of a fair degree if construction, however there is no noise intrusion - if you are not particularly fussed about views and just need somewhere nice & comfortable to stay as a base this place is really good value. Be carefull when booking with kids - we booked through Expedia for 2 adults & 1 child and the confirmation made it very clear that the booking accomodated this request. On arrival we found that there were no sofabeds provided for the confirmed child and an extra AUD200 for 3 nights was required for a roll-away bed. We just took cushions of the furniture and she slept on the floor! If booking with more than 2 adults make sure you are getting a bed within the price.

Clean hotel, friendly staff, good location, nice big rooms. I will return to same hotel.
