“Great Value For Money Family Hotel”
This is a great value for money hotel. Staff are very friendly and helpful. It is located in front of the Dubai Museum right by the Dubai Creek, walking distance to the souks. Hotel offers free valet parking so we had no problems finding a parking spot. There are supermarkets and laundry facilities nearby for any amenities required. Only improvement point could be the availability of free internet with higher speed (ours kept on cutting off). The hotel is not brand new, and it does not have the look and feel of a business type hotel. It is more of a family/couple oriented four star lodging facility. Great music band downstairs at the pub on a nightly basis. We will definitely go back.
“A unique piece of history in an historical neighborhood”
We stayed at this hotel as a transition point from another hotel to going on to our very late flight back to the U.S. that evening. Our room was on the fourth floor facing the Dubai Fort and Museum. It was a beautiful view, albeit a bit noisy with the calls to prayer from the nearby mosque and the very heavy traffic. But this is a very interesting section of Dubai, with lots of shops and restaurants. The decor of the lobby and the room seemed more authentic than the other hotels we stayed at and visted. But there were trade offs. The pool was small and the sauna area very outdated. But we have an iron, robes and slippers in the room, which we did not have at our other Dubai hotel. There is a spa, but we did not have time to investigate. Figuring out the lighting in the room took a few minutes and the bathroom was a bit outdated, but very clean. We were given a basket of fruit as a welcome gift, which I thought was a nice touch. Without a taxi, this hotel is a little out of the way from the nearest metro train station. The cab ride to the airport was about 50 AED, but we were in heavy traffic so this may be higher than normal - but from our observations traffic is always bad in Dubai. The Thai/Chinese restaurant in this hotel is absolutely outstanding and reasonably priced. The food is wonderful, the decor beautiful, and the service even better. The restaurant alone is worth staying here again and the rates are very reasonable for Dubai.
“Arabian Charisma”
This hotel has a very Arabian feel to it, evident in all the decor, with the use of marble and antiques in public areas. There is a very attractive spa area and an outdoor pool. I was very impressed with the courtesy and high service levels of all staff members, always smiling and ready to assist in any way. While I would not call this a five star hotel, I would happily return because of the Arabian feel, and the lovely staff. It is a 5 minute walk to the creek where you can take an abra ride for 1 dirham, or a 25 dirham taxi ride from the huge Dubai Mall with the dancing fountains and designer shops. The airport is also a short distance, and there is a huge souvenir shop next door with very good prices, as well as a supermarket nearby.
“Arabian Courtyard- Spet 2011”
They do not have free internet and you cannot check into your room until 2PM. Otherwise, the hotel was pretty nice and centrally located. It is across the street from the Dubai Museum. It is also walking distance from the river where tou can take boat rides to the other side to see more sites.
“Great location & service”
Ideally located opposite the Dubai Museum. This smallish hotel has 3 restaurants & an Irish Pub!! We can highly recomend the Indian which had live Indian music and dancing every night. Nice arabic style decor, the rooms were spacious and clean. Slight problem with a noisy air con the first night but staff very helpful and quick to rectify. Service was second to none. Pay the extra for an executive room, as this gives access to the executive lounge where there is free wifi, drinks & canapes in the evening & soft drinks all day, plus a much nicer place to have breakfast.
“great for the price”
I staying in Dubai unexpectedly and didn't want to spend a lot on a hotel - This property was a really good for the price I thought it was a great place. They had 5 places to eat inside the hotel Indian, Chinese / Thai,English pub, Pizza and a small deli/bakery All the food I got was good portions and room service was fast and resonable. I like the gym and pool areas. they were small but everything you could need was available. My room was big and comfortable and it smelled GREAT in there - jasmine sandlewood scents - The spa was nice but the saloon was never opened the whole time I was there - I was told I had an appointment for a color but when I arrived I was told there was no appointment - then was told they didn't have product and they cancelled - but no one told me. Location for this hotel is in the Creek area - right across the street from the Dubai Museum walking distance to water taxi to take you to the Gold and Spice Suaks - Old Suak food stores and pharmacys with in walking distance - Dubai Mall about $8 US taxi / Mall of Emeriates about $15 US taxi - I would stay here again even though I wasn't crazy about the location - price and service made up for it -
“good stay”
hotel was good. only issue we had was that the shower was hard to control. hot one minute then cold the next. apart from that every thing else was excellent. would not hesitate to stay there again
“Traditional style hotel very centrally located in Old Dubai opposite Museum”
Friendly staff always willing to help with any enquiries and assist in getting you a taxi to where ever. It is decorated in what I would describe as traditional Arab style with all the mod cons ie coffee making in room.and a hairdryer robes etc. Bathroom was a bit smaller than I would have expected in my executive suite. But that was all I would grumble about. Breakfast was a bit ordinary but the massage I had was brilliant and very cheap. The Sherlock Holmes bar is interesting and welcomed if you like alcohol as it is difficult to find anywhere that serves alcohol other than hotels in Dubai. Big Red bus stop is across the road and the Dubai Creek is just down the road where you take public little taxi boats across to the souks - wonderful experience for only 1 dhr. If its the beach and modern you seek then this is not for you.
“Good value in older area of Dubai”
If you want old style arabian hotel, this is great value and a very comfortable hotel. Close to the old town area and souks. Would return here again.
“Excellent centrally located in Dubai”
We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 nights in this very well appointed and centrally located hotel. All over service was excellent, attentive staff, plenty of advice and information, excellent clean and comfy room. Brilliant pizza restaurant next door and English pub on the first floor. Close to city centre and Dubai Creek, yes just excellent.
