“Nicely Surprised”
We had a very nice stay over 2 nights. Everyone was very cordial. Initial room was on the 1st floor which feels like you are underground somewhat so we asked for another room and got a nice room without any difficulty on the 3rd floor. Looks to be recently renovated but it still is an old hotel and still had some remnant smell of smoke even though the hotel is supposed to be non-smoking now. We had a nice dinner at their restaurant and had good breakfasts at their buffet. The gardens are very nicely kept. It seems to be mostly a business hotel with Ford right next door but it didn't bother us.
“Best for visiting "The Ford"”
Although dining was a bit pricey, it was offset by convenience to "The Ford." A great place for travelers, and astounding for special events like weddings, etc.
“GREAT accidental find”
We were stranded in detroit due to storms on the east coast and all of the airport hotels were booked unless we wanted to stay at a 2-3 star. We booked at the Dearborn Inn and it was a $27 cab ride but well worth it. We stayed two days and the hotel was very pleasant. Built in the 1930s but with updated room amenities. The concierge was willing to drive us around the area to the local mall and for dining which helped us pass the time. the grounds of the hotel are expansive and the restraunt it great---buffet is ok too. I would suggest it to anyone who has to stay near the city or airport and doesnt want to feel like it. one complaint---there was a crispy moldy washcloth from a previous guest hung over the shower rod that I inadvertantly grabbed---shower curtain was barely on the rings---a little more attention could have been paid to that area.
“Business/Family trip - An incredible time!”
The Dearborn Inn was a pleasure to stay for 4 nights. The room had two views of the hotel courtyard and the bed was very comfortable. The thermostat wasn't working when we first checked in to the room but after informing the front desk, it was fixed in under 10 minutes. The front desk staff helped us with our passes to Greenfield Village & Henry Ford Museum, a "must see" if you are ever in the area. The breakfast buffet includes fresh fruit and a make-to-order waffle/omlet station at a reasonalble price, with an attentive serving staff that spoils you like you are at home. The hotel's lounge, with a regulation-size pool table and waitress, offers an excellent atmosphere to unwind after a day of business or sightseeing. The hotel lobby affords a comfortable atmosphere for visiting with friends or just kicking back with a good book. The only complaint that I have, as business traveler, is that, at the price/night to stay here, free internet should be provided to guests.
“Would stay there again”
Excellent. If I had to make one suggestion it would be to offer a late check out.
“Dearborns Best, so historical”
What a history there. Old, updated and beautiful. The surrounding area was great as well as the grounds.
“Beautiful Hotel”
The Dearborn Inn is absolutely a must stay. The hotel was extremely clean, the lobby was wonderful, and the pool is great. The hotel has three areas where you can eat as well. The food was wonderful but the service was a bit slow. The hotel is full of history as well! There was an antique car show the weekend we stayed right in the parking lot. It was wonderful. I highly highly recommend this hotel.
“Historic Elegance from the '30s updated to modern luxury”
The ONLY place I would ever stay in this area. We have been here over 20 times in the last seven years. This is not the place to take a whole gaggle of little kids on the cheap. That's one of the great positives. Totally immaculate restoration and modernization by Marriott of an elegant 1931 hotel built by Henry Ford to accomodate business with his auto empire. Directly across the street from The Henry Ford (museum) and Greenfield Village. In good weather you can walk there. Absolutely no other hotels this close. They are all several miles away.
“excellent”
A modernized hotel with charm from the 1930's. Best of both worlds!
“Dearborn Inn”
Beautiful gardens and grounds! Very quiet and the food in the restaurant was excellent!
