Victoria Accommodation

We chose this hotel as it is close to Etihad Stadium and we were going to the football. It was on a good special too. It was a pleasant surprise to find such excellent accommodation for the price. The rooms are a good size and the amenities are very good, but I would have liked a second chair in the room. The bed was super comfortable and the room, on the 7th floor , was super quiet, so much so we slept in till 9:30 ! Thank goodness check out is 11 a.m. There is a bar/café downstairs which was buzzing before and after the game, great atmosphere for a nightcap. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The Vibe is over the road from Southern Cross station and the tram stop is right out the front, easy to travel around. Altogether we were very impressed. The décor is Art Deco in keeping with the age of the hotel as it was built in 1926. Back in 1942, when it was called the Savoy, my parents spent their honeymoon night there before my dad went back to Darwin to fight the Japanese. I didn't know this until I was telling mum (now 92), about our stay. It was a nice touch.

For the location and price this was fantastic. It is hard to find an inner city hotel with a carpark at $15 a night. The room was clean and modern, warm and sound proof from the busy city below. We had a lovely view, easy walking distance. Friendly staff at reception. I will definitely stay again next time I am in Melbourne.

We had an early flight and we asked the concierge if our room would be ready and they said they would endeavour to have it ready for when we arrived and much to our suprise when we arrived it was in fact ready! Also the fare from an airport to the hotel with a taxi is highly expensive, but this hotel is registered with sky bus hotel transfers meaning we had to pay only $30 for all 3 of us and it was a very fast journey as well! The concierge were extremely helpful too, they knew every place we wanted to go and the best ways to get there and attractions etc. The gym was very good and worth a look! The restaurants inside were at the higher price end.. So we didn't eat there. The Archibald Art Exhibition was on at the time of our stay which was an extra bonus! Right next door is the DFO and it is the best in Melbourne! Transport is easily accessible and it is just a short stroll across the river to the city and the free city tram! Our overall stay was absolutely flawless and would recommend to anyone! Our son is now even staying there for a few days! 10/10 from us!

We were extremely satisfied with the hotel, a quiet location & near shops to obtain food for breakfast. A comfortable lounge.dining.kitchen, bgig bathroom with washing machine & dryer& a kingsize bed in the bedroom. what more could one want?

The room in the 'Lighthouse Tower' was large and spacious with high ceilings and was well appointed. The hotel is close to the centre of town and parks and is reasonably quiet at night. Room service breakfast looks cheap on the ordering form, but we got slogged with a $17 service fee on a $20 breakfast. Other than this, the staff were very friendly and allowed us to print an airline booking sheet free of charge.

Front desk was very helpful. Room was an acceptable size and nicely decorated.

Our room was spacious with an excellent lounge seating area, by the window and small balcony. The enormous bed was exceptionally comfortable and had generous pillows. We slept very well Mini bar was well stocked, entertainment on tv with foxtel was excellent.The bathroom was generous in size with a beautiful bath, great shower and lighting. The room was warm, and we had everthing we needed. Breakfast was excellent. Bircher muesli was the best I've tasted. Parking and security at the gates and underground carpark were easy to negotiate and well planned. Service on arrival and departure was perfect. Only a short one night stay a swe were attending Opera at Domaine Chandon. Our first visit to the Yarra Valley - we had a perfectly lovely time.

What a fantastic place to stay in the Yarra Valley! I was pleasantly surprised at the high level of quality and comfort of Balgownie Estate. I had a spa room which was lovely, with a fantastic bathroom and spa that you could watch TV from! Mini bar was well stocked, and the toiletries provided very nice. The view from the balcony was sensational too. I didn't try the wine tasting or restaurant on site due to time restrictions, but they looked very nice. I would definitely come back here and recommend to friends.
