Slovenia Accommodation

Enjoyed the convenience to the Old City. Excellent staff support, even though we spoke only English. Enjoyed the variety at breakfast.

Before travelling I had several questions for the hotel. These were answered efficiently and without delay. The hotel has huge charm and is in a prime location. Reception and concierge staff could not have been more welcoming. The room was kept pristine throughout my stay and very comfortable. Breakfast , serving both hotels, was well planned and though not 'thrilling ' , extremely good, catering for all palates. I had very "local" inhouse dining on one occasion .. excellent ..AND they very kindly set up in the lounge bar area. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff. On one occasion I arrived back quite late and having expressed interest in a quick nightcap, the bar was immediately reopened for me. Similarly, the staff were ultra helpful dealing with my various requests re itineraries , restaurant choices etc. Tellingly , although a large hotel , they would ask when i returned from touring , " how was **** " They are genuinely interested in their guests. The quality and professionalism of the service was as good as I've encountered anywhere.

Stayed here for 4 nights at the end of March. Cant fault the place, people, food or service. There is free wifi and a bar/restaurant on site. However, ljubljana is such a small city that everything is easily within walking distance. A short 5 min walk and we were pretty much at the dragon bridge!! A 15min walk in the opposite direction takes you to the bus and rail stations which are next to one another. As for the bus service, thet are always on time - unlike in the UK, so if you're running late the chances are you will miss the bus! Ljubljana is a lovely, charming little city. Prices are very reasonable and would suit a w/e away. For those with some more time, take a trip to Bled and the Postojna caves. Both are excellent day excursions. If you have been "wowed" by the UK caverns then they will look pretty mediocre compared to postojna! Its also cheap and easy to organise these yourself with little planning involved.
