"Our stay was really good. The hotel was quiet even though there was a wedding taking place. The staff where helpful and friendly.
The room was a standard hotel room nothing special but it was clean and that suits us.
The restaurant food was good and tasty it was a really slick service. My partner ordered the half duck but it must have been a duckling instead. It was the smallest "half duck" we have ever seen and it was over cooked but still enjoyed it. I ordered the pasta which was very tasty and a huge portion.
We did three courses and when the bill came I nearly fell down - but wages need paid and the lights need to stay on!
One thing we would say is the hotel is great, we would come back.
My last piece here is a final comment on the hotel restaurant dessert menu - it's old style and out of date.
I'm veggie and I can guarantee ( being an old chef myself) that I will be offered a pasta or rice dish and at best a veggie burger. The menu is meat heavy and if your vegan - forget it! Kitchen staff - where's your inspiration!?
Anyway, big thank you to all the staff but particularly the ladies on reception.
