Really enjoyed our 3 night stay in the Buttongrass Cabin. The location of Highlanders was great. Super close to the park visitor centre and also the shuttle bus plus was very close to Devils at Cradle which I think is a must to visit when visiting Cradle Mountain . Our cabin was lovely, very clean, quiet, comfortable and had everything we needed. It was chilly when we visited so the fire was a lovely addition and the full kitchen allowed us to prepare all our meals. Highlanders was an oasis, very quiet and we were lucky to see a wombat and a few wallabies near our cabin. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Would highly recommend.

Wonderful rustic cottage with open fire all set to go. Great setting and close to buses. Great facilities. Only negative severe restrictions on use of quite functional wifi with access cutting out after 3 hours despite alleged 2GB allocation

It was a lovely cabin with good facilities. Nice spa bath and the slow combustion heating was nice. A great base to come home and relax after a day walking at Cradle Mountain and Dove Lake. The resident wallabies and the birds were outside of our cabin, and we saw a wombat crossing the road.

Cabins are across the road from the visitor centre. You can’t get closer. Self contained cabins with cooking facilities and a bbq area too.

So much character…..we absolutely loved our stay at Highlanders. Super friendly team who did everything to make our stay a great experience. Cabin was so warm and cozy, surrounded by beautiful bush, very clean and tidy. Native wildlife at our door which the kids were thrilled about. Ideally located opposite the tourist center for easy access to the shuttle buses into Cradle Mountain. Would definitely recommend highly!

Beautiful secluded cabin, immaculately maintained with so many kitchen accessories that meant we were full self contained and enjoyed family meals together. High quality bedding, lovely thick doonas, the fire was lit for us before we arrived and bedroom heaters on. Firewood roped up frequently (I think everyday). Staff were so helpful and friendly. We’ve stayed at Peppers before and preferred the Highlanders for its seclusio, we felt like we were in our own little sanctuary. Peppers is ok if you don’t mind the business and hustle and bustle. But this place was just gorgeous and literally across the road (with bush in between) the Visitir’s Centre.

Exceptional alpine cabin accommodation
Absolutely beautiful alpine cabins with cozy pot belly stove and all amenities for a very comfortable stay. The cabins are nestled into the bush providing a perfect secluded experience in a very special part of Tasmania. Located across the road from the Visitors Centre providing quick and safe access to the all Cradel Mountain walking trails by shuttle bus. Can’t wait to visit again.

Delightful winter stay
Arrived to a warm cabin in the winter with the fire place already going (Very pro!). We stayed two nights in Myrtle cabin after leaving Launceston. Tip: we provisioned our dinners from a place called Alps and Amici in Launceston. The cabin had everything we needed to sit comfortably by the fire and eat our meals. Bed and bedding were great.

We loved the warmth and cosiness of the cottage. Everything we needed was supplied - plenty of wood to replenish the fire, a well stocked kitchen, electric blankets and privacy. Very close to the Information Centre to get the shuttle to all the walks. Highly recommended.

The separate wood cabins put you as close to the local environment and nature as physically possible. It got down to 1 degree celcius on the night we stayed there and had great delight in keeping the fireplace stoked with wood. Cradle mountain can be viewed with a short walk from the cabin. Loved our stay here and only wish we had stayed an extra night.

Excellent stay and wish I was able to stay longer
Sadly, only stayed for one night. Excellent appointed cottages with feeling of space within the trees and surrounding land. Quick.and easy check in, beautiful cottage with all amenities. I travel a lot and this is one of the best cottages I have ever stayed in. Top marks. Clean, comfortable, own gas fired fire, electric blanket on the bed. Beautifully appointed.

Property is very clean, neat and cozy feel. Only thing I didn't like it got squeaky sofa bed. And I personally prefer to have white hotel linens in accommodation to make me feel the linen is more cleaner
