“Goos value for Cologne”
Clean hotel room with good service. 15 minutes from Cologne center. Breakfast buffet was good, but there is a Macdonald's and convienence store next door.
“Christmas market stay”
Hotel reception very friendly, excellent English spoken. Breakfast fresh and excellent buffet . We used this hotel for a base for the Christmas markets. Do your research beforehand as parking is difficult in the city, fine at hotel. Hotel close to major roads so access is good. An early start is essential if you wish to park in the centre, otherwise use taxi, P+R or trams. Our only gripe was that we requested two adjoining rooms with one cot. The cot was a sofa bed , which was ok for 2 + 4 year old, although any younger, this could potentially pose an issue. We were allocated rooms on separate floors and hotel was full!!! We are aware that requests cannot always be allocated but felt this could of been avoided. Holiday Inn offers a membership , which might of proved benificial. Will return to Cologne again....
“Average hotel”
This hotel is far from points of interest. It is convenient that it is off of the speedway and McDonald's next door. They can do better with breakfast. They should learn from Holiday Inn Express at Frankfurt

good and comfortable
“Good hotel , l close to metro, but some distance from town”
Took us a wee while to find this hotel we knew it was some distance from town but got ther eventually. We later discovered it was only 5 mins from the metro, which went directly into town. The place was clean and tidy, the receptionists spoke excellent english, and the room clean and comfortable. Breakfast was plentifull, but the little bar was very quiet
“Basic room with a nasty bathroom...”
The room was pretty basic which I would expect for this price level but overall it was comfortable. However, the condition of the bathroom was horrible. They had a nasty mildew problem in the shower. We notified the front desk and I don't think they understood \ cared. If we were not there for such a brief stay I would have asked for another room. By the time we got in we just wanted to sleep so we deferred showering until the next stop on our trip.. I would not stay here again...
