“Great Weekend Getaway!”

Great property! A little off from the city limits but defnitely worth staying if you are looking for a relaxing getaway and fed-up of city life. Not extremely happy with the service but enjoyed the stay!

“Great for golfers or business meetings”

This was a very disappointing experience for us in what was planned to be the big celebration of our 20th anniversary and the last night of our trip to NZ. We arrived late afternoon and checked in to our Lakeside room. Be aware that the Lakeside room is just that - not lake front. There is a glimpse of the lake from the single glass door only. After dragging suitcases up stairs we found the room to be very knocked around with old furnishings and marks on the walls. The bedside table had obviously had something spilled over it and a huge stain on the carpet near it. Carpet had been cleaned but the bedside had dried spillage (???) all down the side of it. The sliding door to the bathroom had fingermarks all over the handles and dirty marks on the paintwork. Fortunately for us there had been a flood of the unit upstairs making the lights flicker badly so after some time we were upgraded to a lakefront suite as all other rooms were occupied. Hooray for us. This had much newer and nicer furnishings and was truly amazing and what we had expected. Well worth the extra money if you are planning a stay. However our joy was short lived when we phoned to make a dinner reservation and were advised that the restaurant was fully booked for the entire night!!!! What??? This Hotel is in the middle of nowhere so other options are not available. Our 20th anniversary dinner was reduced to a 45 min round trip for takeaway. Hmm. Focus appears to be on the golfers not the travellers.
