“Silversmith Hotel, In the Loop, Chicago”
It was great. Right downtown and accessible to everythiwas Chicago has to offer. And, you won't believe it but it's true, my room was right by the El train, but they modified the windows so you it sounds like a whisper going by, but still with a view.
“Great visit”
Had a one bedroom suite that was rather spacious for Chicago Loop hotels. Hotel was clean, hotel staff friendly and helpful, seemed to have good security set-up compared to others in area. Entrance right at bottom of stairs from 'El' stop. Would gladly stay again if similar rate available!
“Great hotel!”
I stayed at the Silversmith for 4 nights and it was great! This was a great hotel overall- great service, nice rooms, and PERFECT location. Everywhere we needed to go was in walking distance. I would highly reccommend this hotel to anyone who is planning a trip to Chicago. We asked for a room far away from the train to avoid the noise and were given one - I did not hear one thing in the middle of the night! Great hotel, great price - overall a great experiance. I would definitely stay in this hotel again.
“I wanna go back for the taste of Chicago this year.”
I like that the location is close to grant and millennium park. Great rooms and service. The art museum is within walking distance.
“My new favorite hotel”
This hotel was the perfect place for us to stay as a family. It was conveniently located near public transportations, was safe, and there were numerous places to grab a bite to eat close by. The room was spacious (huge bathroom) and classy, and the staff were gracious. We were steps away from Millennium park, Michigan avenue, the Art Institute, and only a 12 minute bus ride from the Museum campus. We will definitely stay at this hotel again.
“Can't wait to go back”
I glad I wind up with this hotel. Transportation from the airport was breeze. I was very surprised with the size of the room. It was king size bed with another living room for guests and for watching tv. It also has another tv in the bedroom. the bathroom was big and clear. And mostly I like the fact that the hotel has Energy saving and recycling program if the guest would like to participate in it. I did participate in it and I hope everyone would so they can keep the cost down and affordable. Good luck in your staying and I hope you would enjoy it the way I did.
“great location and hotel”
great hotel; close to Millenium Park; walkable to lots of places downtown; expect some train noise
“Perfect Location!”
The hotel was exactly what we were looking for. We were spending the weekend in Chicago for a show and some shopping. This hotel was a few feet from the El and and couple blocks from the metra. We couldn't have asked for a better location. The price wasextremely reasonable and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The hotel was close to stores and restaurants. Having to have a room key to use the elevator was a nice added securtiy. Overall, our stay was great.
“Find a silver lining at the Silversmith”
We were in Chicago over Valentine's day weekend to shop, sightsee, and attend a play. There was construction outside the Hotel's entrance which is not very imposing. However, Bell service took us up to the Lobby, which is actually on the building's second (main floor). The lobby was spacious with oak wood floors and oak mission style chairs. Check in was quick and friendly. We checked in early, but the room was ready and were upgraded to a suite on the 9th floor. The room had a king bed, separate sitting area and TV (sorry, not flat screen) and a large bathroom. Although the walls and floor were lined in tasteful tile (not marble), all the usual amenities were there (unless you hanker for those terry bathrobes that we rarely use). The hotel's location is ideal for shopping as the State Street Macy's is one block away along with Filene's Basement and Nordstrom's Off the Rack. The Chicago Institute of Art is a 10 minute walk from the hotel while the old Lasalle Theater (showing Jersey Boys) was 5 minutes away. The only negative for the hotel is the noise from the elevated train, even when up on the ninth floor. However, we did not pay any attention to it by the second night. We were told that the windows were triple paned to decrease noise.
“great hotel”
This was my 2nd visit and it won't be my last.
