“Nice Hotel, nice location, professional service”
The hotel is well located (very close to the downtown loop and millenium area). The service was very professionl, the room was very clean. The gym is very small but that wasn't necessarily important to me anyways. Rates are pretty good for such a quality.
“Great place to stay!!”
We were very happy with the river hotel. Clean and quiet, had comfortable beds and furnishings. Free Wi-fi and a bar/restaurant. Loved the reading material left in the room as well. River view and close to everything! It was quaint. Somewhat reminiscient of the Boutique hotels you find in London.
“Perfect!”
The River Hotel is an unsuspecting hotel nestled amongst the larger downtown Chicago Hotels. We found this location to be pivotal to our walking excursions and the L. We found the room to be of a comfortable size and appreciated the cook-top and table service. Complimentary bottled water was available everyday, very refreshing after a day of shopping. The hotel staff was friendly and very knowledgeable of the area, giving us directions daily as we learned our way around downtown. Their restaurant recommendations were sound and we enjoyed the complimentary coupons. When our plans take us back to Chicago we will be staying at the River Hotel.
“highly recommended”
The hotel staff were extremely accommodating and helpful. A pipe had burst in the lobby the morning of our stay, but they offered superior customer service to compensate for the construction. The room was small, but very nice and the view was wonderful. The location was ideal- right between Michigan Ave. shopping and Millennium Park. In each of the hallways, there was a water bottle filling station offering refillable water bottles and filtered water. The restaurant attached was great and I would recommend eating there during your stay. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a quality hotel in a great location with a boutique/classic Chicago feel.
“Will definitely go back and stay in other Club Quarters in other Cities”
Hotel was great and perfect for business travel (free wireless or go downstairs to the "living room." Standard club room was cozy but had a nice bed, work desk and side chair. Bathroom was small but fine for 1 person. The next room size up was fine for 2 people. Location of this hotel was great - just walk across the river bridge and you're at the Magnificent Mile. Great Italian restaurant at the hotel. Noticed there are other Club Quarters in other cities, and will definitely stay at this hotel again and consider staying at hotel locations in other cities.
“Awesome Location & Good Green Attitude”
It is a good hotel, at a great location in downtown Chicago. But be warned, the lower price will only get you in the smallest rooms in the back of the hotel- which was OK with me. I loved the availability of clean plastic bottles that you can refill infinitely from the purified water dispensers in the hallways and take to your room. In most hotels, I am either dangerously dehydrated because only water available are the $5 bottles or I have to risk the tap water. They also had other "energy conserving" features which don't directly affect the customer, but make you feel better about staying there. The restaurant is a bit pricey (as expected) but the Chicago style pizza was really delicious. I recommend the bambino size of the deep dish for one person. Or choose the small size to share between two people. All in all, I would definitely stay there again!
“Loved it!”
I really enjoyed my stay and the staff was very friendly. I live in Chicago but was my first time staying downtown. A friend of mine was visiting and stayed at a well known hotel. Having seen mine she said her next stay she would book the River hotel.
“River Hotel Chicago”
Extremely clean, well-situated--very near Millennium Park, a Loop stop, Magnificent Mile. Courteous and responsive staff. No bed bugs. An old hotel, but my room was nicely renovated--good shower, nicely tiled bathroom, very comfortable bed. Free wifi. Small TV (flat screen), but I don't go on trips to watch TV, so it didn't matter to me. Small but adequately-equipped gym. Felt safe enough in the neighborhood to walk alone at night (female), mostly because there were so many people out late (went in the summer).
“Very Impressed”
We found the hotel to be extremly satisfactory. Our room was overlooking the river and the free wi fi access was extremely handy. The resturaunt located downstairs served excelllent meals and the staff were very helpful. A very enjoable experience
“Very impressed!”
Close to everything. Just west of Michigan Ave. and right across the river. We had an excellent view of the city skyline, Trump's building and the "corn cob" apartments. Great staff and very nice room.
