Amenities at PUBLIC Chicago include The Living Room, outfitted with work tables, computer stations, and seating areas. The Library houses a coffee bar during the day and a full bar and lounge at night. The property also offers 24-hour fitness facilities as well as an around-the-clock business center. Multiple large conference rooms are available, including a meeting space of 8,600 square feet. A screening room is available for private functions and live performances. Guests can customize their minibars and, pick up snacks or toiletries at the 24-hour front desk.
The Pump Room restaurant and bar features a menu designed by Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten, including a selection of original Pump Room classics from 1938. At night, the restaurant’s bar transforms into a glamorous supper club reminiscent of the 30s and 40s, but with a modern approach.

The Pump Room - The restaurant’s food concept was created by world-renowned and the James Beard Award-winning Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten and features regional flavors, local products, and a selection of classics from the Pump Room’s original 1938 menu. At night, the restaurant’s bar is transformed into a supper club and offers a light tapas-style menu, exotic cocktails, and international and domestic bottled and draught beer.
The Library - During the day, The Library offers a variety of coffee drinks from around the globe as well as house-made pastries, sandwiches, sushi, and other specialties by Chef Jean-George Vongerichten. By night, the space is transformed into a lounge, wine bar, and beer garden combination, offering domestic and international bottled beer, a wide selection of wines from around the world, specialty cocktails, small-plated exotic food and desserts from the Pump Room created by Chef Jean-Georges.
Recreation
Lake Michigan's 35-mile-long path for running, walking, bicycling, or in-line skating is two blocks from the hotel. Bikes, in-line skates, and recreational equipment can be rented at several beachfront locations. In summer, Oak Street Beach and North Avenue Beach, both a half-mile from the hotel, are open for swimming.

“The best little secrect I will share!”
This was our second time staying at the hotel since the remodel, it was as great if not better.From the moment you arrive the service & appeal of the lobby sets you up for a very senuous experience. And the room service is so fast it made my head turn.

Excellent overall experience. Staff, from valet to front desk were well versed on the city, directions, restaurants, etc. A classic Chicago hotel well blended into modern design.

swanky hotel in the gold coast. not in the heart of the loop or magnificent mile, but an enjoyable walking distance of each. in a classy neighborhood, so you feel more like a local, which i enjoyed. great restaurants around the corner in any direction. the hotel is beautiful and the set up of the rooms are great... beautiful in its simplicity. each had a walk-in closet, a plus. we even took advantage of enjoying some reading and games in the library and using the computers in the lobby. it's so plush that you'll enjoy hanging out a while. LOVED the Public Chicago. Would definitely stay there again if ever I visit chi-town again.

“Steps Away from the City Lights!!!!”
This was a staycation that allowed us the opportunity to enjoy the nightlife, which was actually on the main floor of the hotel. It was great because we really didn't need to leave the premises to enjoy a good time. We also were steps away from the magnificent mile and rush street. Only drawback was the parking.

“Unbelievable Value”
AESTHETICS: This hotel looks and feels like a 4-5 star, but costs far less than it's style competitors. The design throughout the entire place is very tasteful and understated (but still totally upscale-feeling), which is hard to find in a sea of gaudy, outdated hotels. FOOD: I would not necessarily recommend the Pump Room. Our food was sub-par and the music is quite loud, though we had a superb server. The "library" (lounge) is delightful for drinks. SERVICE: Also, the service is still working out the kinks of a new business. Some of the employees had contradictory things to say about restaurant reservation policies, which resulted in our party waiting over two hours for a table.

Fantastic hotel. Comfortable, inviting, stylish, fantastic service, great beds and excellent pricing. THhe lobby area is an ideal point of relaxation and the food and bar are superb. Best value in ChiTown, by far.

Boutique hotel with quite a bar scene, even on a Tuesday night, that did everything rather well, not exceptionally well, but well enough to deserve a recommendation. Food at the hotel's Pump Room restaurant was great.
