“Shewe Wana in Chiang Mai”
Overall our stay at Shewe Wana was excellent. The staff was always friendly and very helpful. We met the owner while we were there and she seemed very interested in how our stay was going. The breakfast buffet was great and the restaurant meals were always reasonably priced and delicious. We did use the spa services and found the thai massage therapist to be wonderful (strong!). When my friend fell ill on the trip the hotel even drove us to the Chiang Mai hospital and waited while my friend was treated - we found this very impressive. The hotel is clean and had just about everything you could need. The location was only OK, it was within walking distance to the activities downtown but its not an easy walk as the sidewalks are in bad shape and traffic is very bad on that main road. You are better off catching a tuk tuk - the price is very reasonable. One of the few things we didnt care for was that the street was literally filled with auto shops - it would have been nice to be near additional restaurants, shops and other amenities. However the hotel did have a coffee shop attached which was very convenient. And when you are in the hotel (which has lovely gardens) you dont see the street (although you can hear the traffic). This was our first visit so we didnt know what to expect and didnt have much to compare to, but we were satisfied with the choice and would recommend it.

There was genuine concern by all staff and requests concerning the accomodation or activities were quickly and professionally attended to . Marvellous breakfast , the grounds and fountains make it a quiet oasis and the two pools just gives the finishing touch . Free wifi , shuttle service .

The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. The hotel is clean and well kept, though rooms are not too large. The location is convenient but is not the closest to the city center. I would definitely recommend the hotel because it definitely provides value for your money!
