“Clean, Cheap and in a Good location”
Clean, Cheap and in a Good location only downfall was the noisy traffic outside. Would ask for a room towards the rear of the hotel next time. Great location for night time markets, restaurants and shopping.
“Great Hotel, Great Location”
Conveniently located near Night Bazaar and right in the heart of downtown area with lots of restaurants/bars. Only about 15 minutes to/from airport in the hotel minivan. Great value as far as the room goes, staff is friendly and attentive. Breakfast buffet is a bit overpriced. I would have been happy to pay a few $$ extra to have it included in the nightly rate. Would definitely recommend this hotel.
“A wonderful stay in Chiang Mai”
The hotel provided a very convenient and low-cost shuttle from the airport to the hotel. The hotel is in a nice part of town - right next to the famous night market - and was in very good condition. The staff was courteous and helpful throughout the stay. The pool area is nice and relaxing, and the restaurants were good.
“Excellent location Great service”
Excellent location, walking distance to food and night markets. Staff were very friendly and always willing to help with our requests. Great value for money.
“Great Location!”
This hotel was right in the heart of the night market. The rooms could use a makeover, but for the price, I was willing to overlook it. Only real complaint was that it said "pillow top mattress" under the room description, but they definitely were not. However, for location & price, I would definitely stay here again.
“Great for the price”
Good clean hotel central to all attractions. Well appointed rooms with good service. Very close to markets and good restaurants. Independent drivers loiter in front of hotel; you can bargain and get an all-day driver for a good price.
“Lovely hotel, great staff and perfect location”
We stayed in the Royal Princess for 3 nights and were very impressed. The welcome cold drink and face towel on arrival was a nice touch. Our deluxe room was very spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was top class and the location opposite the infamous Bizaar night was perfect. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to my family and friends
“Go for it if you get a good price!”
Check-in was great, complete with a complimentary juice, cold towel, and orchid. Past the lobby, this was an average hotel with average service and an average pool. The workout room was quite dated in terms of equipment. The big plus here is location - you just can't beat it, as you literally step outside the front doors and you are in the heart of the night bazaar. Two downsides were 1) the constant presence of taxi and tuk-tuk drivers waiting for you outside hawking tours 2) the VERY expensive wi-fi. In Thailand, it seems that the more upscale the hotel you stay at, the more likely you will pay for wi-fi through the nose. There is, however, a restaurant directly across the street which provides free wi-fi to customers with laptops.
“Great hotel depending on the floor.”
We stayed in 2 rooms at Royal Princes. The 4th floor room was poor. It had a leak, older outlets, and was just a bit run-down. Our other room was on the newly renovated 5th floor was great. Nice pool. Great breakfast buffet. Staff was helpful. Overall very nice hotel depending on the floor you stay on.
“So convenient”
A very comfortable and central based location hotel. Staff were helpful and friendly. Good door service and booking ability. Could speak English well enough to be helpful. The bonus of being right on the street with the night market at the front door was great. Can recommend a Tuk tuk ride around the old city to see the temples and sights and also up to the mountains for the Elephant camp trek up to the long neck village. The tuk tuks are cheaper than taxis and more convenient and less demanding than the bus tours. Be sure to confirm an agreed price with driver before departure though and get a driver who is registered (licensed) with the department. Their license is displayed in the vehicle. Walking distance to china town, river, eating spots, bars, shopping. Great location and hotel all round. Only problem we had with this hotel was that the bathroom floor flooded from overflow from the shower. Not drastic but just meant a wet floor out of shower instead of dry.
