"Hotel was better than expected given the recent reviews. It wasn't pristinely clean, but it was satisfactory. The hotel appeared understaffed as we had to wait ~30 minutes to get to our room after the check-in time, however they were apologetic about this and it was not too much of a bother for us. The hotel felt safe as it required a room key or being buzzed in to get into the lobby. Very convenient for transportation to and from Lyon Part Dieu Station. "The hotel is clean in general, and staff are nice, but we were allocated to a room that's not facing the street. We opened the windows and killed 6 mosquitos over 3 nights - at midnight as well, so sleep was really interrupted. There can be more lights in the room as well. The hairdryer was broken on the last night and the noise was so loud when in use. The room would probably be better and brighter if it's facing the street."

"I had a great stay at Le Phenix! The room was surprisingly big for a single room and the bed was super comfortable. It was very clean too. The staff at reception were so lovely! The only slight downside was that there was a fair bit of noise in the mornings with people outside going about their day but it really wasn't too bad. I would definitely stay here again!"
