“A gem of a hotel for business or leisure traveller”
Staying in Catania for a night or two? Then this a great hotel: ideally situated next to the train and bus station with the airport bus, the city centre is close by, the hotel decor is a delight, functioning air conditioning is a great relief from the heat, an excellent breakfast, and above all the most friendly and helpful staff ever. Be sure to ask for restaurant tips from them! I had one minor criticism - and believe me this is minor - but the bathroom was a bit cramped in my room.
“Beautiful hotel”
Beautiful hotel, clean, excellent service, very helpful staff. It's in a convenient location to the bus & train station, as well to local points of interest. However, the immediate area is a little seedy.
“Cantania's little jewel”
The staff were extremely helpful in all of my quests.. The hotel in a great location.. Very pretty and would recommend it to anyone..I was a woman traveling on my own, and never felt uncomfortable in this location.. The staff are so helpful and our now my friends for ever I hope... Bravo Villa Romeo.. Great Hotel
“Great hotel; iffy location”
I stayed here for 3 nights in mid-March. The hotel was great - the room was cheery and comfortable, there was an elevator, the desk staff spoke decent English, the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was only okay by American standards, but decent by Italian. It's close to the bus terminal and train station - and I am normally a light sleeper - but I never heard a train. My room opened onto a little patio. My only caution is that the neighborhood is a little dicey for a solo female traveler, esp. before daylight savings time. I was never hassled, though. It's a little far from the city center (15 minutes walk, not much in the immediate vicinity of interest.)

“Make sure to book an interior room with terrace access!”
Hi - Loved the hotel! The front desk people were all wonderful! We loved our room as it's balcony literally opened up onto this terrace with lots of chairs and nice music...so it was nice to sit outside in the evening after touring around. This was a great place to fly into and the hotel was really nearby, easily driveable, just make sure to opt for the GPS as you would never find these places otherwise! Or if your smart phone works over there use that instead. The area was great, there were some little shops nearby for sodas or snacks. The free breakfast was really good. Catania was a great center point for going to Mt. Etna, Taormina and Siracusa. The hotel again was nice and clean and make sure to get an interior room, meaning not one that faces the streetside. Oh Wi-Fi in Sicily is so-so, on the terrace you get a connection in the room not so much. Thanks for a wonderful stay!
“Best interior terrace”
Super friendly and excellent English. Made recommendations for dinner which were excellent. Safe off street parking at reasonable charge. Nice breakfast. Location is a bit away from the center of town but within 15 inutes walking. Near train station. Very farily priced for quality received. Has an old world feel to the decor. Free internet access. My only complaint was minor-the safe was inoperable.
“Worth the stay!”
Great hotel in Catania. It's a 10 minute walk from downtown. The rooms are elegant and clean. The staff was adorable and they all spoke English. There was no parking except on the street, but we had no problems and always were in front of the hotel. They have the best breakfast for any hotel we've been in in Italy. They actually had eggs which is a rarity in Italy, croissants and cakes, breads, jams, etc.
“Exceptional help received. Really helpful Staff.”
Hotel Villa Romeo is in a convenient location close to the transport hubs (bus and train) but quiet street and walking distance from the centre of town, and I would go gladly there again. Beautiful restful courtyard gardens. All the reception staff were really nice, and I received really exceptional help when I had problems booking a necessary flight.. The staff helped me get around various problems I was having including a cancelled credit card that made it hard for me to book anything at all. It was truly amazing hospitality.
