"Lovely location, very romantic"
We had 3 rooms booked, but one of them did not correspond to what we requested (twin) and the only twin available was at the back of the hotel, overlooking the road. Also, my room was not made on day 2 because the staff only came to do it in the late afternoon (one would expect morning) and walked into the room without knocking... while we were having a siesta !! Finally, I regret that the dinner at the restaurant is menu only (4 course) as we would have preferred something a bit lighter at night. But apart from that, the hotel is beautiful, excellent location, and I would be more than happy to go back anytime.

"Tremendous !"
Lovely hotel, very romantic setting...an absolute gem.Only 30 mins train ride from Rome, set on a hill..fantastic view.Hotel 's bus shuttle is great-organised drop off and pick up times-makes eating out very easy(did'nt eat lunch or dinner at hotel). You must go into Frascatti (3 mins on shuttle) - lovely place.Drinks at Hotel very reasonable. Swimming pool is great-probably helped by temperatures of 34-35 degrees whilst there! Breakfast very nice.Cost £163 b&b 3 nights - no brainer.Enjoy !!!

"Elegant hotel."
We had a wonderful hotel experience. The hotel is simply beautiful, clean, and right on the beach. My only regret was that we were not here in the summer to enjoy the beautiful beach and all the facilities on the beach. The concierge was exceptional in helping us with private excursions in Venice.

"Fantastic Hotel in Family run Villa"
Hotel Flora is a classy and sophisticated hotel. Beautiful garden full of water fountains and large Camilia trees and a lawn for guests to sit out and enjoy. A very large and spacious lobby with an elevator to the rooms. Staff are very discreet and friendly. The air conditioned room was very light, airy with a large bed and modern furnishings with a generous terrace (with a table and chairs) giving a sensational view of the trees, hills and grand old villas in the distance. Sky TV was available with scores of channels in several languages. The marble bathroom was huge with all the usual furnishings of a grand hotel. The shower was a bit tricky but it was OK in the end.Breakfast was a feast, no complaints at all.The staff were very kind and friendly. Road noise was not a problem at all, the hotel was very quiet so sleep was not interrupted. A wonderful, luxurious experience.

"Great hotel for Rome Ciampino"
Early flight from Rome Ciampino was our reason for staying nearby. As we'd a car, we didn't need to be right at the airport, and this hotel was great, about 10 minutes drive away. Friendly and helpful staff. Lovely room, modern but it had a bit of old-fashioned charm. We ate watching the sun set over the Eternal City from the terrace and had a lovely meal as well as a superb view. Standard continental-style breakfast buffet with good range and excellent coffee. The price was very reasonable too. Would highly recommend this hotel, at least of you have a car.

"Great hotel"
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and clean. Great bed, awesome bathroom and shower. So far the best hotel we've been to on our trip to Italy. 2 comments: both parking and WiFi were open to all visitors of the hotel facilities. There was a bit of an issue with the parking (we were even blocked once by someone who came to the snack bar, the doorman was kind enough to go find the owner of the car for us). Also the internet was slow. It would be nice if guests of the hotel had dedicated parking and a password protected WiFi.

"A warm, friendly hotel with breathtaking views"
We hired a car, as we were going to drive to see our cousins several time during our stay. I would recommend car hire as the hotel is fairly isolated, however they operate a courtesy shuttle to Castel Gandolfo station. On the first day we had wonderful meals on the beautiful hotel terrace for lunch and dinner. The restaurant is very good. There's no light lunch or snack menu, though. The buffet breakfasts were very good by Italian standards, with eggs & bacon, fresh fruit, hams, salamis and cheese, breads, croissants, cakes. The swimming pool is lovely, with comfy sunloungers around the pool. If there's a function going on, access could be limited. There are also tables and chairs where you can sit and read. Castel Gandolfo is a sleepy, very pretty village. We also drove to the 'Castelli Romani', the hill towns. Demanding driving, but pretty. Visitors with children could make use of the 'beaches' around the north side of the lake. There are lots of restaurants and snack bars around that side of the lake. The room was pretty, comfortable, acceptable but not particularly well appointed, lacking drawer space and good lighting. It was clean but the floor hadn't been washed, so our feet got dirty. The views, however, over the lake, were sublime. The staff were very helpful and courteous, however they didn't offer us help up the stairs with our cases on arrival, and there isn't a lift. I'm sure we'll go back to the Villa degli Angeli quite soon; it is a special place.

    Castelli Romani, Italy Accommodation Guide

Favoured as an out-of-town retreat for the Romans, the Castelli Romani are hilltop villages descended from fortified castles of the Middle Ages. Set on the outer rims of extinct volcanic craters of the Albani Hills, the air is refreshing and the rich, volcanic soil is ideal for vine-growing. Well-known for its crisp, white wine, Frascati is the most accessible of the Castelli Romani. Nearby is the Pope’s summer palace, the Castel Gandolfo.
