“Would definately stay again”
Very friendly, polite helpful staff. My first stay overnight in Cardiff so not familiar with city. Receptionist gave me a map so that I could find my way about. Hotel & room very clean. Dining area/bar has a very pleasant outlook on the water. Continental breakfast food very fresh. Would definately stay again.

Lovely to watch birds on canal- convenient for both bay and city. staff great very helpful, not too expensive.
“Decent!”
Hotel is quite well situated about 10-15 mins walk from city centre and 10 mins walk from Cardiff bay area which is a lovely place - highly recommended for Dr Who & Torchwood fans :) Breakfast is a nice buffet in an area of the lobby overlooking the wharf waterfront - also very nice. Hotel room was slightly on the small side with the sofabed extended, we managed fine with our 6 year old but families with 2 children might be a little cramped. Overall very good - exactly what we needed - a very pleasant, decent if un-amazing, reasonably priced place to stay.
“Very well run and welcoming hotel”
Rare to visit a hotel at this price level and this busy where all aspects are overseen so carefully. Comfortable bed. Clean and well organised room. Good sound proofing. Friendly and welcoming staff. Adequate breakfast (and views out onto the water so you can watch ducks dabbling while you eat). Most pleasant.
“Cardiff Easter break at Holiday Inn Express”
Well placed between the city and bay areas. The only thing that let it down was the heating control in the room.
“Modern hotel ideal overnight stay quiet and close to waterfront.”
As with most Holiday Inn Express, the hotel was well organised clean and comfortable. A good location situated on the old Atlantic Wharf with plenty of parking and easy walking distance to either the Waterfront with excellent restaurant choices or City centre for sightseeing. No fault of the hotel but Atlantic Wharf could do with a bit of TLC.
“Pleasant hotel and Good Value”
Nice hotel with cheap convenient parking. Free breakfast was a nice bonus. Quiet area within easy walking distance of Cardiff Bay area with good choice of restaurants. Just a 10 -15 minute walk to City Centre
“New Year in Cardiff”
10 min walk from Cardiff Bay and short/cheap 5 min taxi ride to town. Staff were helpful and friendly even though they were extremely busy checking in lots of guests. Parking charge per night (check with hotel prior to booking), internet charged either by the hour or for a day. Overall very good value for the price, if you are looking for somewhere that is cheap and conveniently positioned this is ideal.
“Well placed to walk to the Interantional Arena”
This hotel is in a reasonable walking distance of the Cardiff International Arena, the station and the city centre shops, if travelling by train the location of this clean and comfortable hotel works well.
“Lovely view; dull breakfast”
Very convenient hotel. We asked for and were given a high floor room with a waterfront view. Breakfast was limited-no basics like bread rolls or muesli. Bacon available on only one of the two days we were there. Excellent coffee!
