“Budget Hotel in Cardiff”

The hotel was OK for the price we paid and the location we wanted. We would have prefered to be a little closer to the area that we were visiting but it was the only hotel available. The staff were friendly, the rooms were warm and comfortable and the complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits in the room were very welcome.

“Value for money motel”

This was my second one night stay here. I like the motel type accommodation and the fact I could see my car from the room. The hotel is disappointingly placed on a small industrial site with a new warehouse just being erected opposite. However, the room was clean,warm and welcoming with tea and coffee making facilities as well as biscuits. The linen was clean, the bed comfortable but the pillows were not. I will bring my own next time. I felt the bathroom could do with a bit of renovation but was clean with plenty of towels and toiletries. The staff were pleasant and helpful. There were quite a few people staying there at the time and we didn't hear any noise from joining neighbours. We had the continental breakfast. Although we arrived an hour before it finished, it didn't look like it had been refilled for some time. I've had better but maybe I've been spoilt in France! Overall, for the price, I felt the hotel was good value.

No frills but clean and affordable with pleasent staff. 12 pound taxi ride into Cardiff city centre.

“Would return”

We were greeted in a polite and friendly manner. The room was no more and no less than we expected, given the price. We were comfortable and warm and if we require the same kind of accommodation again in Cardiff, will return.

“This hotel is fine”

This hotel is fine. Nothing special but nothing bad either. We stayed here on the weekend of the rugby and it suited our needs. It is a 13 pound taxi ride into town so not too bad.

“It was OK”

The hotel was fine on the whole, but the (twin) rooms were rather cramped. It was a rather cold weekend when we went but the heating (wall radiator) doesn't come on until 4 pm, which meant the room was quite chilly until then - reception said they couldn't override it. It's easy and cheap to get to Cardiff city centre by public transport - there is a bus stop very near the hotel - and, under normal circumstances, buses run every 20 minutes or so during the day but we were there on a rugby international day so they were being held up in the city centre because of traffic. We returned by taxi, which was not an unreasonable price, especially when shared. The hotel reception and bar close at 11pm, but there is a pub nearby which stays open later and which also does meals (pub-grub type) which are extyremely good value. All in all, the hotel was ok, but we stayed in two other hotels (different chains)subsequently, which were much more comfortable and better value for money.
