“SIU Mom”

So, far out of 6 hotels I've stayed at in Carbondale, this one has the freshest sheets and is the most sound proof of the six. I highly recommend this hotel.

“Comfortable stay”

After reading some questionable reviews on this site about this hotel, I can say that they are inaccurate. The hotel and our room were both clean, there are lots of restaurants and stores nearby for shopping, and the bed was comfortable. The only complaint I have was the internet connection which was pretty weak. Other than that, I would recommend it!

“Good quality hotel for the price.”

The hotel was easy to find and right off the main hiway on a cul-de-sac. Check in went smoothly and it took only a very short time to get my key. I looked at the room it was accpetible and in good order. The room was clean and the indoor pool although small was warm and inviting. There were plenty of towels and the beds were large. I never did try out the wi-fi the tv worked ok after I got the desk clerk to send someone to reset it. He arrived quickly and it only took him a couple of button pushes to reset it. The only problem I had was the sink didn't shut off exactly right for some reason. You had to play with the handle to get the sink to shut off. But for the price it was a good hotel.

“Cheap, But Not Good.”

When my band played Carbondale recently, the room was OK for a one-night stay, but I wouldn't recommend it for any longer. It was inexpensive, which was our primary reason for staying there. The hallways and elevator were run-down and had a funky smell. The room was OK but nothing special. The front desk people didn't seem particularly friendly or helpful. The free breakfast ended at 9:30 on a Saturday morning, so needless to say, my bandmates and I didn't get to partake (Really? Would it kill you to extend that to 10, like most places?). Overall, it was a place to crash for the night, and that's about the best I can say about it.

“Poor Management Policies”

Due to a snow storm and a car accident on the day before travel, my travel arrangements with this hotel were no longer possible. I called the hotel and tried to get them to cancel my reservation and return my money and they refused citing their 48-hour cancellation policy. I made them aware of the EXTREME extenuating circumstances of my situation but they continued to deny my request, even insinuating that if I had booked "directly with them" instead of through Expedia and paid a higher price they would be more flexible. Thankfully Expedia offered me a travel voucher for the cost of my hotel, something that Quality Inn wouldn't offer. BEWARE THIS HOTEL!!!

“Smelly, Out-Dated, Dirty”

I would not recommend this location at all. This hotel does not meet up to the standards of Choice Hotels at all.The hotel hallways wreaked of stale cigarette smoke covered up by insense. The carpeting was extremely dirty and old, as was the bedding. Everything was out-dated, old and falling apart. This hotel is in desperate need of a remodel. If cleanliness is important to you, then this is not the hotel for you!

“Storage Room”

Afer walking to our room the door would not open.. no big deal. We went down and told the getnlemen working at the desk he did sometring to my key and said I was good to go. I wasnt. I went back down to tell the gentlemen it still wasnt working. He then told me he would do it for me with a regular key. We went up to the room and he let us in, i thought the room was nice. After getting settled in we decided to take a trip into twon and go out for dinner. We then could not get the door open from the inside and was stuck in the room. I called down to the office, and he came and let us out. The gentlemen then told me he would give me a regular key for the room when we got back. After dinner we walked into the hotel, and the gentlemen then told me he had called his boss, and got me the biggest room in the hotel. I thought this was incredibly nice of the man. We then went to the room and he let us in to my suprise it was a large room, but also thier storage room.... There were stacks of chairs everywere, a meeting table, other piles of tables and numerous other things like highchairs. I would not recomend this to anyone
