“Nice Hotel”
The staff was very helpful and prompt. My room was clean and pleasant.
“Great for the price”
We arrived in town early and called for an early check in. They were friendly and accommodating which was a great start to our stay. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable and we liked having a couple chairs and coffee table to relax. You rarely see this in hotels of this class or even in more expensive hotels. We were very pleased with the cost, room, staff and hot breakfast in the morning. We plan to stay here again.

“The best bang for the buck!!!”
This hotel was fabulous for the money - if you're looking for a 5 star hotel - then, obviously, this is not it. However, for the small price we paid, the hotel is in decent shape, the rooms were well made up, clean, and well furnished - with safe and mini fridge - nice swimming pool, exercise room, and HOT FREE breakfast!!! The hotel is right in the middle of at least 10 places to eat and some shopping as well - everything you need is within 3 blocks - and is only 1-2 miles from SIUC. I travel to Carbondale often and will never stay anywhere else from this point forward (unless of course, my employer is paying - in which case I would stay in the HI down the road - hope this helps!
“Taking my son to SIU”
This is based on a nine nights visit to the hotel. Location is good. Close to university mall and many shops and dining facilities, also at a convenent distance from SIU. The only comments I have is on the free breakfast needs more attention.
“Stayed at Best Western Saluki for SIU event”
There were some issues with the hair dryer not working and the door not locking properly and the hotel switched our rooms without any problems. The next night the guests in the next room were a bunch of rowdy 20 year olds and when we complained the next morning to the hotel staff they apologized and switched our rooms again to a more quiet area. All of our requests/issues were met with an accommodating staff who wanted to fix the problem. The breakfast in the mornings was excellent and always refilled and was not just a continental breakfast. The location was excellent if you are coming for an SIU event.
“It was Nice”
It was very clean and comfortable to stay at. They just remodeled it. No Breakfast -- We were told they did not have permits to serve full breakfast as advertised. Just toast and coffee. Hottub was not working.
“Good Breakfast/Friendly Accomdating Staff”
The toliet was leaking when we were there. There was a large puddle of water we noticed when we first arrived. I also found what i thought might have been a dead baby roach in the bathroom. Might have been on a mop used in there and came from somewhere else. There is need at that hotel for a King size and pull out bed in some of the rooms. We had our 18 yr old son with us and it was slightly uncomfortable sleeping two adults in a full size bed. The breakfast was good and staff very accomodating and friendly.
“Ok to Nice Stay”
The overall experience was ok. During our stay, the room was not cleaned of garbage one the first day of our stay. There was garbage left on one of the side tables that was clearly garbage. The next day of our stay, the room was cleaned more sufficiently. The quality of the breakfast was somewhat poor. The "hot" food was cold and the apple juice tasted like water. Other than those complaints, the stay was fine. I would stay again if needed.
