“Hotel Splendid is charming and very well located.”
We have stayed at the Hotel Splendid many times and love the Provencal decor and superb location. We will return again as soon as we can.
“Just step out to the rue d'Antibes!"”
The Hotel Splendid is impressive from its vantage point at the old port at Cannes. You can see the old hotel, white and startling in the Riviera sunshine, over the tops of the sailboats in the old port. The hotel needs a make-over in some areas, but the convenience and cleanliness of the building cannot be denied. It is a short walk to the rue d'Antibes and we were there during the winter "Soldes." Much was available for sale and for window shopping. The breakfast room is charming and the petit dejeuner well run. A good value, the Hotel Splendid. And a wonderful view.

“Charming Hotel in the center of Cannes”
If it weren't for the maintenance going on while we were there, I would have given the condition of the hotel a higher rating. The hotel is old, but for the most part, well-maintained. The bathroom was nice and big and the plumbing was in better condition than in some newer hotels. We had a lovely big room on the 3rd floor which looked over the marina. The furniture was comfortable and we didn't feel cramped at all when spending time in the room: 2 adults, 2 children. Our television was tiny for the size of the room, but it was a flat screen and worked well. The hotel does not have a car park, but it was helpful to know beforehand that they have a temporary parking area cordoned off right in front of the hotel, to load and unload luggage. This was helpful as finding parking near or around the busy location of the hotel is not easy. The hotel suggested a car park that was quite expensive. Just around the corner we found a similar structure for cheaper. The Splendid hotel is on the main street with great shopping, cinemas and restuarants.
“Central gem”

Nice hotel but a bit noisy. Nice location but the one way system is a bit tricky to get to the hotel. Parking is very expensive
“Good location but needs a re-fit”
Fantastic location in the haert of cannes's restaurant area is the best reason to stay at The Splendid but it's a very dated hotel and due a re-fit. Staff are ok but wouldn't win any charm awards! However, they are there if you need anything and most things work quite well even though they look old!
“Not impressed”
We have been to Cannes many times, bot in summer and at Christmas and usually stay at Hotel America, but they were closed for refurbishment, so we thought we'd try the Hotel Splendid, as we'd passed it many times and it was near to where we usually stay, so was very convenient (particularly in winter) for restaurants and shops etc. Our reception on arrival was 'cool' and not very welcoming, a theme that continued throughout our stay and totally different to the thoroughly warm, friendly attitude at Hotel America. Our room was small & cramped, the bed was very uncomfortable, as were the pillows. There was no 'proper' shower, just a hand held device in the bath. One major problem, was the night-club opposite the hotel. We were on the 2nd floor, but every night till around 5am, there was very loud, booming music and the people on leaving the club made lots of noise, badly affecting our sleep. Overall, we cannot recommend this hotel, as despite its pretensions, it does not live up to its advertising statements and the front desk staff need an urgent re-think on their customer service skills and probably need some training. We were very disappointed and would not stay there again.
