“My needs were met”
This place is perfect if you are on a budget. It gives you free breakfast. A Convenience store is 5 minute walk. There are ATM machines for USD and pesos in a large hotel across the street. Great access to bus lines, small but very clean beach, etc. If you would like a lot of amenities, you should stay somewhere else pay more. Staff was very nice. The AC was quite noisy and so were other guests some nights but for the price I paid, I could not complain.
““Small, Relaxing & Safe””
I have visited Cancun every year since 1989. I have never been treated like such royalty at check in. The desk person, Nelson, (Not just some utility guy) actually took me to my room, went over details of the room and what the hotel had to offer. As It was dark when I arrived he promised me that I would awake to the most beautiful view of the garden and lagoon. He was absolutely right. I go to Mexico for relaxation and the cultural experience. I watch Spanish TV and speak Spanish, but need the live interaction. I love the nature aspect of Cancun and vicinity. It really is paradise like. If you want to relax, get back to basics...this is the hotel for you. Beds and pillows were very comfortable. In all the years I have been going to Cancun we have had some "bricks" to sleep on that actually made your body parts go numb! I was a solo traveler on this trip and was a bit nervous. The hotel staff watched out for me and was extremely helpful. I love this little hotel and it's staff!
“Great bargin hotel”
Great hotel if you want a clean and safe base.Hotel staff are helpful and friendly. Good transport links as bus stop in just around the corner.
“best kept secret in Cancun”
Personally, I found Cancun to be overrated. It is large, noisy, and the beauty and mystery of the place is gone. Go to Tulum instead....at any rate, this little hotel was perfect for my needs. Clean, quiet, well maintained, and with wonderful staff. Their location is a block off the main drag, next to some amazing condos. The pool and outdoor restaurant faces the marina, and is off the main area of Cancun. Beach is across the street, if you can beat the hotel throngs to reach it. My room faced the jungle the staff had created on the grounds. I left my windows open to hear the world outside. The room was wonderful....go there if you want a good, safe, clean place to be, without all the glitz and glitter Cancun is.
“Great for a business trip or leisure”
Hotel is great if you want to escape the 'usual' Cancun. Its close to the main road to airport/Isla Mujeres/ and downtown and all amenities. As soon as you check in, you forget you are actually in Cancun, but instead the pathways are lined with tropical flowers and plants. The pool is next to a mangrove lagoon. My only negative comment is the lack of wireless internet in the rooms, instead only in the lobby and restaurant. The television was very old, but you really should not be watching tv in Mexico anyway, go to the beach!
“"Superb Value and Spotless! Great Location."”
This small hotel is a gem. Located in an upscale residential neighborhood and near the bus and ferry to Isla Mujeres. The hotel was spotless with plenty of housekeeping staff. It isn't on the beach but on a lovely, protected cove. Very quiet. Lovely pool with a bar and restaurant. The staff was polite and friendly. Continental Breakfast was included. If you wanted more, you could order it from the menu at a very reasonable price. The coffee was not that great, as it was prepared in a huge industrial machine. OJ was fresh squeezed and delicious. There was plenty of parking for rental cars. Neighborhood was extremely safe. Not recommended for disabled; too many steps and no elevators. Hotel is free form, 3 stories, with small clusters of rooms. Lovely design. Convenient to Hotel Zone and cheap restaurants in city. I loved it and cannot wait to go back!
“Excellent value”
We were looking for a cheap place to stay for four days in Cancun. We had planned excursions each day and only needed a place to sleep. What a surprise to find that this Hotel was not only affordable but very friendly and clean and had great food and service. Its really the best value I have had in a property in Mexico. I hope it stays a secret.
“I would definitely recommend this hotel.”
If you´re searching for a simple, but clean hotel, then I would choose Sotavento. The rooms are nice, the pool big and clean and the hotel service good. The best part is the location as it´s located between downtown Cancun and all facilities to go out. You can take the bus for 1$ to get to different beaches, traditional mexican markets or other places. I would definitely recommend the hotel as I had a great time and a lot of fun.
“clean and quite”
Priced right and clean and quite. I would go back
“Sweet place to stay!!!”
