“February 2 night stay”
On arrival reception staff were pleasant, helpful and efficient. The room (No.3) allocated was in the hotel section on the ground floor with a nice view over the park. Coffee, tea, milk, refrigerator, jug, toaster and microwave (magnatron) provided. Bed clean & comfortable. Bathroom very clean, Internet connection, both wireless and ethernet, available at a very reasonable rate (3 packages avaiable). Diningroom very pleasant. Car parking outside our room. All in all a very pleasant 2 night stay.

“Great value in Canberra”
This motel-style hotel is excellent value for a visit to Canberra. We found our room very comfortable but we would want something bigger for a stay longer than 2 or 3 nights and the Forrest does have appartments, as its full name implies. Of course, its location close to the National Gallery, the National Portrait Gallery, the National Library and Parliament House is its main attraction but we were very pleasantly surprised by the high quality of the hotel. It is also a short walk from the trendy restaurants of Manuka. But if you don't fancy even a short walk the hotel has a restaurant that is open for breakfast and dinner, as well as a bar. All rooms have internet access at a small fee and there is a PC plus printer in the small lobby area. Nice touches include free bottled water in the room as well as a free copy of The Australian newspaper. Car parking is free and the reception staff are genuinely friendly. We have no hesitation in recommending The Forrest Hotel & Appartments to visitors to Canberra.
“Excellent location with easy access”
Good central location within easy walk of lovely Manuka shopping centre. Plenty of parking on site and all staff found to be very welcoming and helpful. Reasonable charges make this one to keep in mind for future visits.
“Title”
I have mobility difficulties and did not know the place was two stories with stair access only. The staff member, promptly and courtesly changes the room to ground floor. Excellent. No TV guide in the room. They claim to save water by not washing all the towels in the room. I find this policy to be disgusting.
“Basic but clean and comfortable”
The room and ensuite were clean and comfortable. The bed had an electric blanket which should be switched off when going to bed. The staff should inform guests of this and how to turn it off. The staff were helpful. The hotel is situated in a very central place close to Manuka shops, cinemas and restaurants. Recommend this to anyone for a cheap, basic but clean, stay.
“Comfortable, central and affordable”
Before touching down in Canberra late one Friday night, we were informed by reception about our after-hours procedures once arrived. The room was both functional, clean and practical for our needs. Nothing opulent but sensitive to the budget traveller who wanted proximity to the galleries of Canberra.
“Good value for money.”
Close to all amenities, easy to fiend and specially good price for your money. What you see in the internet is what you get. Is clean and comfortable. My only complaint will be the lack of big enough saucepans to cook for a family of 6 in the two bedrooms family units.
“OK 2 bedroom apartment, quiet location”
Very friendly and helpful staff when we arrived and after we left when we discovered we'd left a phone charger behind - they mailed it to us COD. Bathroom a bit small but litchen lounge area a good size, both bedrooms adequate and bedding etc all clean. Fairly old apartments, look a bit drab but nice and clean.stayed only one night. Good location. A couple of ks to find somehwere to eat,drove there - but that's Canberra for you. ,Reasonable price.
