The staff was very kind and helpful, but the bathroom was covered with ants. The walls are thin and the mattress as well. Good place if you just want to sleep and store luggage but not ideal for enjoying time at the hotel.
Young people are out at night in the area drinking usually until 4:00 am. Why do they have to yell and scream? I didn't sleep for 3 nights. People staying here need to know this.

Very central for train and bus station. Shopping close by and ferry terminals within easy reach. Good selection of places to eat especially P J O’Brian’s Irish pub.
There was a problem with the booking for a guest before me that took a long time to sort out. Guest had to explain what was going on. Quick acknowledgement, I won't be long with apologies for being kept waiting so long would improve the quality of service.

The room is big. Very clean. Room is always tidy the next day. Its got a bar fridge, a wardrobes, Jar for hot water, air conditioner & also a ceiling fan. The best. I enjoyed staying here at Hides Hotel with my son.

Hotel is well situated within the Cains city area, close to everything.
My room was good, the aircon was a bit weak and was concerned it may cut out during the night but it was ok, tried different modes etc

The King Room that we stayed in was much better than the quad room. The Quad Room's bathroom doors were very gross (bottom area was black with what looked like mold). The TV was also smaller, and not sure why the fridge is hidden in the bathroom closet.
However, the Quad Room was very cheap so you get what you pay for.
Would stay again at Hides but in the King Room not the Quad Room.
Very convenient stay in Cairns; it's very central and across the street from a Woolworths grocery store. The King room was very good for the price (large TV and clean bathroom).
Hotel patio was a nice place to sit during the hot afternoon and play cards at.
Check-in time was quite strict, 2PM exactly. There was a small line at 2PM therefore to check-in.
The Wi-fi wasn't great; slow and wouldn't always connect.

Enjoyed our stay , we will be back next year . Room clean , great location , close to shops , bars and restaurants .
The only negative , the hotel needs some serious tlc parts look very shabby and rundown
We were given the incorrect room, the website did not match, and the bathroom was not clean and there windows were filthy and cracked.

The amenities are quite old. We couldn’t stop the toilet flush leaking into the bowl. They had an infant bed and provided upon request but they did not have suitable sheets for it. Our neighbours were quite noisy and people were running in the corridor in the middle of the night.
The breakfast terrace was beautiful. The AC in our room was a challenge, but the room was very comfortable. I would have liked a deadbolt on the door though - there was a lot of ruckus in the hallway our first night, and a few sketchy people wandering the halls.

Stains on the sheets. Hair all over the bathroom door. Hair all through the spare blankets. Bottom of shower had sand/dirt in it.
Room was located near some electrical thing that kept turning on and off every couple of minutes. Windows were not able to be opened and were whited out which gave the place a claustrophobic feeling. Mattresses were horrible and uncomfortable. Could feel all the springs.

Okay for a one-night stay.
The room was as shown and clean. My tv wasn't working. I used mt own phone as a hotspot and my tablet: was for just an o/night so I didn't mind.
There was no view. The hotel looks rough as you walk through. It does need to be neatened. I was comfortable.

Keep an eye on it and if after 7 days you still got nothing call your bank or give us a call back. We had a lot of guests having their deposit back on the 6th or 7th day. kind regards,Hides Hotel
