Burkes Pass Motel was lovely for our short stay in the Lake Tekapo area. Easy check in/check out. Felt like we were on a farm retreat with the garden, hens, and sheep on the property. Very clean room and friendly staff :)

It was pretty much the only accommodation in town and was just a 15 minute drive from Lake Tekapo. Very reasonably priced. Owners were very friendly and were happy to chat and offer any advice. The room was big and spacious and had everything we needed. Was a great place to just chill out and admire the stars at night. Highly recommended.

The property needs a lot of care . It’s very old and tiny, super basic amenities . I paid almost $400 . Compared to a 3 bedroom modern apartment in other areas we lived in and paid less than $200. I know where to look next time . The lady at the desk when we checked in is friendly and helpful though .

Hi Judith,Thank you for the feed back.we are a motel not a apartment & we had clear booking numbers of four people.The unit you booked was for was not capable of sleeping or holding six people and you knew when booked you had more than Four as you had done it to another acomodation place in Cromwell.Yes i charged xtra as you had lied on you booking.I did appreciate you leaving the unit so clean and tidy.Please in future book for the appropriate amount of people that will be staying together an you will find it more comfortable and have adequate room.

We really enjoyed our stay at Burkes Pass Country motel! The rooms were clean and cosy and the beds were comfortable to sleep in, much needed after a long drive from Christchurch! We stayed here while visiting Lake tekapo and the drive through burkes pass was beautiful

Everything was terrific, especially the sheep and lambs in the backyard. My stat was very comfortable and I’d be happy to recommend this accommodation unreservedly.

Megan our host was amazing. Took us out back to feed the lambs which was cool. Lent us an air fryer for our dinner and graciously let me put my kazillions of ice packs in her deep freeze. Clean comfy room overlooking mountains and farmland. Friendly cat who jumped on the bed with us for cuddles in the morning and two cute little dogs. Beautiful fresh roses in our room from Megan’s beautiful garden. Great place to stay away from the hustle and bustle. Would be super gorgeous in the winter with snow around. Great historic little area Burkes Pass

Burkes Pass Country Motel was very enjoyable. It was quite small but had everything we needed. Bed was comfortable with amazing sheets. Bathroom very clean and pressure in shower was great. It was very nice to watch the lambs and the rabbits. Thank you for a nice stay.

It was a unique experience. The accommodation was cosy. The hosts were lovely and very welcoming. It was situated in an idyllic spot within easy reach of Lake Takepo. We would definitely recommend it!

Megan and Phil were friendly and extremely helpful and went out of their way to ensure we were happy and didn’t have any complaints. There are only 3 motel units but an awesome BBQ garden space with trees to sit under and the farm animals added some variety too

Nice back yard “ farm”,enjoy time here.tiny and quiet studio,but continence to everywhere. 15 min from Tekapo lake.lucky to have it in the last min booked in during Christmas holiday.
