“Brilliant location .”
If you budget stretches to the costs, it's worthwhile considering.
“Very good hotel”
The hotel was excellent but we were not given the option when booking to have a danumbe facing room (front)which we would have liked. Also it might be a good idea for the hotel to run a minibus (for a nomninal charge) over to the Pest side of the river which I am sure they could make a profit from.
“Lanchid 19 is the place for a view and a great price. Loved it!!”
The view was worth every penny of the extra cost! It is incredibly spectacular. Everyone was extremely helpful and almost everyone was extremely friendly. Some help was very serious, but always polite and helpful! There are few restaurants on the Buda side of the Danube, which is where the hotel is , but for the sake of the view, the walk across the famous Chain Bridge was absolutely not only worth it, but beautiful! The castle is on the Buda side, but it is a walk up the hill or take the little cable car up and it doesn't run very late. All the action, museums and shops are on the Pest side, except the Castle attraction. If you want to be in the middle of the hub of things, stay on the Pest side. If you want a little piece and quiet in the evening and a spectacular view along with a reasonably priced hotel, this is the place. We parked for free out in front on the street and it was in August, The breakfast, all you can eat for 12 Euros, was well worth it. We did eat dinner there once, but preferred exploring for more local food in Pest. We higly recommend this hotel.
“A gem!”
Feels like home and always look forward to going back. It's a magical place for me where I can enjoy the peaceful ambience and the spectacular views.
“The location was just right.”
We had a room facing the palace wall, with a small balcony, that was just right. The design of the hotel, inside and out, and the room itself, were as promoted: a bit unusual and charming. The shower was very cool. The beds was comfortable. We needed internet access and the staff bent over backwards to make that happen; we did not have a laptop but ended up with one from the hotel for all our needs. The location was just right for us; on the palace side of the city and right next to the Danube. The ease of mass transit in this city was great and made it worth it to stay just a bit away from the touristy areas on the other side of the river. This city is wonderful and walking out the hotel door, especially at night, to see the bridges lit up in all their glory made us very happy with our hotel choice. There were plenty of good restaurants within walking distance but a few were worth going to the othe side of the river.
“Modern Touch in a Historical City”
Hotel staff was courteous and attentive. When we couldn't get the in-room internet to function they lent us a laptop which was a really nice touch. Initially we weren't thrilled about staying on that side of the river but it was actually nice to be in the quieter part of town and there are lots of great places to eat within walking distance. Also since it's right at the foot of the Lanchid bridge it's very easy to pop over to the more happening side of town.
“The price was right”
Everything was wonderful. The only caution is that although its convenient to sights, the night life is on the other side of the bridge. The walk across the bridge was not that bad, and certainly beautiful
“thoroughly recommended”
this is a first class and classy hotel in an excellent location, and great value. the staff were excellent and the room fantastic with a brilliant view to the danube. i would thoroughly recommend it.
“Comfort, convenience and a beautiful view.”
We recently celebrated our 50th anniversary with a 12 night stay in Budapest at the Lanchid 19 Hotel with side trips to Vienna and Godollo. The hotel decision was primarily based on client reviews. I doubt we could have made a better choice. Thanks for honest ratings. The view in the evening of the illuminated Chain Bridge and buildings on the opposite shore of the Danube alone was worth the trip. The hotel itself is what I would call modern minimalist. The staff was helpful and friendly. Maid service was great. The room, while not huge, was spacious enough to feel comfortable and uncrowded. Hanging space was limited. Bring your own hangers, wash cloths, and LED book lights (for reading maps). The reason for the lower comfort rating was the awkward bathtub setup which seemed to be the spawn of collusion between an artsy designer and a slip and fall attorney. The restaurant offers a limited selection compared to other 5 star operations such as the Museum Restaurant but we found the flavor and presentation of the many items we tried to be excellent and the prices competitive. For alternatives to a breakfast buffet, try the Maravilosa or Baldaszti's Bistro within half a block. Transportation is a snap with buses and trams running in front of the hotel. For vertical transport, the Funicular is a long block away at the foot of the Chain Bridge and takes you to the Castle complex. I recommend the Lanchid 19 without hesitation and would definitely stay there again.
“Lanchid 19 Hotel, Budapest.”
Modern nicely positioned 4 star hotel. Good points: - nice modern rooms - near river and 10mins from Centre by car/taxi - smoking rooms available - car parking available - breakfast good (outside terrace good too) - staff friendly Bad points: - nothing really!
