“Excellent Value for monies spent.”
Ref: Hotel Aquarius; Negyteteny, Budapest HUNGARY Subj: Tue1July2008-Mon7July2008 Family Stay. Overall we enjoyed our Family stay (3 rooms) at Hotel Aquarius. Almost everything is as indicated or advertised. Rooms are big. Bathrooms are big, most with tubs & showers, some with only showers. Beds & bedding comfortable & clean. Balconies safe for toddlers. Parking is extremely convenient. Air conditioning & elevator worked great. The hotel pool & hot tub are great for adults & older kids, but unfortunately hazardous towards smaller kids without absolutely constant attending. Hotel night staff was extremely helpful. Public Bus transportation is available from directly in front of the hotel. A new portion of the "M6" motorway (near the "M0") appears to be near completion & will allow for really convienent access to hotel. Recommend (rental) car to get around if on a tight schedule, otherwise public transport offers daily access to Buda & then on to Pest. Typical small European hotel continental breakfast buffet provided. Small refrigerator in rooms. Typical European hotel with ice mostly unavailable. Water temperature fluctuated about 10 degrees in shower due to possible surging in water supply... nothing dangerous, just noticeable.
“Telling all my family and friends to stay here......”
This hotel is an exceptionnally clean hotel. The staff was very informative and helpful. I will be staying at this hotel again. The food at the hotel's restarant was reasonably price and beautifully presented and most important was very good. I was able to purchase a transportation pass at the front desk for the bus, tram & metro. The staff gave specific directions to the sites I wanted to visit with a map. Transportation easy for me to understand even with the language barrier. Comfortable sleeping! Quiet! Didn't have a hair dryer in the room. Purchased one there. Did have a towel warmer in the bathroom. Hotel card key needs to be placed in slot by door, which turns on the lights/TV. When you leave take card with you. Turns everything off. Great way of not losing key. Very clever. I Highly Recommended this Hotel!!!!
“Lovely hotel, very friendly, helpful staff!”
Hi - this is a lovely hotel on the outskirts of Budapest. You would definitely need a car - as we drove closer to the city and parked in the street, then took a tram in. The hotel staff were all very friendly and helpful and had time to help us with our questions about Budapest or where to park! The swimming pool was relaxing too on a night and the buffet breakfast was plentiful and delicious! The only thing that was a bit of a surprise was the location of the hotel near a bit of industry off a main road so the view from the window wasn't amazing, however this didn't detract from our stay there at all - the actual hotel grounds were quite nice.
“Interesting stay!”
This hotel was fairly comfortable and on the whole a good place to stay! It has seen better days and has comedy staff who argue with customers at breakfast. It is ideally located for both getting into the city and driving further afield. The new motorway is about to open and guests from now on will benefit from not having to traverse road improvements to get to the bus stop. The bus ride itself is about 30-40 mins but gives an insight into the local way of life. Good value for money.
“Nice hotel”
The Aquariushotel southwest of Budapest was a beautiful and cozy place to stay the night. The service was exellent, the only minus was that there seemed to be to little employers in the restaurant. We went in the evening there to have supper and we waited 15 minutes before we met any personnel inside the dining hall. But we can for sure recommend this hotel to others.
“Not impressed”
Poor air conditioning and as noisy as building construction. Lost a whole night of sleep. The hotel failed to adequately compensate us and expected us to be satisfied with a drink from the bar to say sorry! Apart from that only one worker in particular was helpful with travel tips etc.
“an unpleasant stay”
This hotel has a deathly, dingy air, and the airconditioning didn't work in my room - Budapest is hot in the summer. I had a horrible sweaty, sleepless night trying to avoid the numerous mosquitoes and horseflies in my room. The room smelled of those sickly in-car airfresheners, The bed was so soft (ie old) it was unsupportive and I had to move the mattress on to the floor. The pool and sauna etc did not work (and seems not to have done so for a long time.) The food in the restaurant was really awful and I went to bed hungry, having been unable to finish it. No other places to eat in the area. I even left before the end of my booking because I couldn't face another sleepless night at this hotel. I really cannot recommend this hotel in any way at all and cannot see how it can uphold a 4star rating.
