“Lovely People make you feel welcome.”
Clean, comfortabel, well appointed. The people make the difference. I always feel very welcome when I stay there.
“Go by boat”
We spent two nights at the Wellington Apartments and were pleased that upon early arrival they offered us tea and coffee and the room was quickly ready. The rooms as requested were at the back of the hotel and so avoided busy road noise at the front. Our friends were also booked in for the following day and were to be close they were in a room directly above us. We had breakfast inthe hotel and I was pleased that they could accommodate my special dietary requests. The surrounding area had a number of reasonable eating places and a supermarket which we made good use of. The best thing was the proximity of the ferry which was amazingly cheap. We rode it up and down the river on two occasions and took it across to the city for shopping excursions. All in all a very nice stay with convenient shuttles from the airport though it took over an hour to get to the hotel as they handed us fromn one vehicle to another.
“Brisbane accommodation”
Staff and service was very good, all very friendly and well informed. The restaurant was great and the food was fantastic.
“No Frills comfortable accommodation”
The hotel was easy to find, clean and the staff were friendly. Complimentary wifi was appreciated as was the parking. The decor could do with a revamp as it does look a bit old and tired inside and i was expecting a bit better for the money. Fine for a night or two
“Free secure parking is welcome but ...”
the hotel is on a busy road and using the balcony is unpleasant for that reason so that you end up going inside and closing the double doors for some peace and quiet. The kitchenette needs a light so that you can see what you are doing there. Toasters are banned due to sensitive smoke alarms and there is a massive charge on your bill if the fire brigade needs to be called. The vanity in the bathroom is too small to be able to spread out your toiletries, a reading light didn't work and a glass frying pan lid was missing a handle which made it tricky to use.
“Good hotel with a few shortcomings”
This hotel is very conveniently located to the Brisbane CBD. As we were staying for four nights we were upgraded from a small hotel room to an apartment. Parking was free which was great. Across the road from the hotel was a small supermarket so we were able to buy breakfast things so we didn't have to have the more expensive hotel breakfasts. However we had a few issues with cleaning. On our second night, one of the clean towels was still damp and we wondered whether it had simply been picked up off the floor and refolded. We did check beforehand that the room would be serviced every day. Also the sink was not cleaned while we were there. Overall, we would return there.
“Good service”
Staff was very helpful and when we asked for a late checkout we were told we can stay as long as we want, the room won't be used that day. I was a bit disappointed with the cleanness of the towels, but the bedlinen was crisp. There was dust behind the TV and the door and marks on the walls, but overall it was pleasant. Getting into and out of the bath tub was a bit of an exercise, I don't recommend it for unfit persons or the ones with back problems. There is a swipe card to enter the hotel after 9, which I left in the room on two occasions and we were still let in with a smile - I greatly appreciate that. The ferry terminal is only a few minutes away.
“If you like a quiet hotel do not stay here”
The staff offer to make a call to Expedia for then charged my room for the call, The reception staff where so loud in the morning they woke me up the cook was yelling in the main reception
