“Too stuffy!”
No windows that opened and air con that did not regulate so room was hot and stuffy lending me to claustrophobia - could not breathe cool air. It was worse after taking a shower.
“Hits and Misses at Royal on the Park”
This was the last stop on our two week tour of Queensland. The hotel is an older hotel that has apparently undergone a massive refurbishing. The rooms are clean and neat and the bed was super comfy, but I would not recommend this to anyone traveling with their family. First of all, I was not impressed with the baby cot they provided. The cot itself was decent, but there were no sheets and only a scratchy blanket for my baby. I packed my own cot bedding, but it was too small for the hotel cot and when I called the front desk to ask for cot bedding, they sent me a set of full size sheets! The rest of our stay was pleasant and uneventful (baby slept in our bed) until the day we were supposed to leave. We had already checked out and I needed to change my baby's diaper. When I walked into the lobby bathroom, it was FILTHY. The floors were sticky and not mopped and the walls needed a good scrubbing, which surprised me because I saw a cleaning person go in earlier. The worst part was that there was no place for me to change my baby's diaper-not even a bench. I asked a gentleman at the front desk if there was a place where I could change a baby and he told me to use the disabled stall! I guess he expected me to change my baby on the floor of that disgusting bathroom. In the end, I ended up putting a jacket on the carpeted landing of the back stairwell and quickly changing my baby there. The restaurant could also do with a bar menu for those of us who just want a light meal.
“Great quality, moderate price”
We have recommended this hotel to others. While not a luxury, 5 star hotel, it is an excellent quality 4 star establishment. The location is superb, being close to city centre, Southbank, riverside walks, Botanic Garderns and restaurants. Room is moderate sized, bathroom & other facilities clean, staff seem helpful and friendly. Exceptional quality here for a moderate price. This was our third stay at the hotel. We can not find any reason to spend more money than is charged here.
“Good location, does the job”
We only stayed for one night to go to a function nearby. Everything ran smoothly. The location is excellent and all facilities were good. No problems but also nothing to get excited about.
